They had much more to do with 9/11 than poor Saddam Hussein. Uh, and he went to Saudi Arabia and he said, “That’s it. It’s over. You are no longer going to support Islamic terrorism.” So, even going back that far, he was starting to take these chess pieces off the chessboard.[Colonel Towner nodding] And go back even further, of course, you know, the mother of Islamic terrorism is the Brits.The British created the Muslim Brotherhood going all the way back to 1922. [The Colonel grins,nods and says right] So these are big moves. It’s also very entrenched.
But I think the important thing, as the colonel said, is don’t look at it inside the immediate news cycle. Look at it from the standpoint that, the British Great Game always creates pawns. But if you pull back the curtain on all of this and you look at what President Trump was doing deliberately, to the extent he could in his first administration. He didn’t have that much of an ability because he was under attack immediately. And he had a bunch of idiots in his administration like John Bolton. I’m sure the colonel appreciates the fact that you never hear any leaks when it comes to negotiating [Colonel laughs and says NEVER] NOTHING, this is locked down tight because they are executing. They are deliberately moving step by step by step. Including working with people — you know we’ve discussed this and I’m sure you’ve discussed it, if you’ve been on shows with Tom Luongo and Alex Krainer. You look at Syria, and you sit there and say, “What is he doing working with this guy?” But then you say, “Okay, he knows these –or Erdogan,– people who have been, or [are] capabilities for the British Great Game. He’s taking those pieces away from them. Doesn’t mean they’ve reformed, but he’s taking those pieces away from them.”

And I think that’s a critical point. My assessment of Trump’s first term was basically exposing what people like to refer to as the deep state. I call it the international syndicate. And I think that in many ways the leaks, which was a kind of a colander during his first administration. [It] was [used for] tracing those networks and where they all ended up so that he has a complete view of the playing field for this second term. I think that’s critically important.
I don’t think most people, [know our real history.] Our history is basically a total lie in the United States. As far as what our government –and by government I’m primarily focusing on the CIA, which I argue doesn’t even actually work for the president in the past. [The CIA] in the past has perpetuated all over the world these regime change operations and stuff like that. [And our ‘official’ history does not cover that -GC.]
So, I see that Trump did that in Venezuela and John Bolton and Mike Pompeo set that up in Venezuela. I think he was highlighting for the American people this exposure operation of how these people operate. And I think for the first time during Trump’s first administration, many Americans, I know certainly in my family was like, “What the heck is going on?” Because most presidents, who in the past have been part of this operation, work with the mockingbird media and they hide all of this. It was literally what has been going on since post World Warii. [Trump put it] front and center on every news cycle. And I think that was very revealing to prepare the battlefield for Trump’s second term. And to your point about him going to the Middle East, because it wasn’t just Saudi Arabia. I mean, it’s Qatar. And he signed the executive order saying that if anybody attacks Qatar, it’s like they’re [attacking us] And you see all of the neocons come out of the woodwork. Oh my gosh. Qatar’s training pilots.
At first it came out that they established a Qatari air force base in Idaho. I’m like no, no no we train pilots. I enlisted in 1979. I was in aircraft maintenance. We were training Jordanians and everybody else in my tech school so we’ve done that obviously for a very long time. So you can see it’s again an exposure operation. The neocons that are out there pretending to be MAGA are the ones that leap out with the most audacious, ridiculous assessments of everything that’s going on.
This most recent with Iran and the Atlantic [Mag] coming out saying he doesn’t know anything that he’s doing. Well, just look at the board of the Atlantic Council. It has just about every retired CIA director that is still breathing. They’re going to tell you what the talking points are from their perspective, which literally has nothing to do with reality.

It’s that very beautiful game being played, but it’s also a complex game. It’s not as simple as there’s the evil guy headquarters, a big castle on a hill and we just have to, you know, find our balls and go fight it. It’s by design. It’s much more intelligent. It’s an illusion of control. It’s the idea that there is no mockingbird media. What are you talking about? We don’t have state-run media. We have blah blah blah. That’s also much harder to fight against. Because openly, if you just start attacking these things, you’re going to look like the guy going against freedom.
But, you know, there is police brutality, but in the funniest way. Like a lot of body cam [footage] you see is when you know some dude that looks like me getting drunk outside of a bar and then he gets punched in the face. You’re like, he was kind of asking for it, man. I’ve been pulled over. Even if you’ve done nothing, you understand. It’s, here’s a cop with a gun on the side of a highway. You’re not exactly at a peaceful area. Go along, talk about it. And then at the end, they’re like, “Oh, yeah. You’re good to go.” in a funny way. It’s actually illuminated more than any amount of anecdotal evidence ever could.
It’s much harder to do that, but it’s how you unwind it. That’s what a lot of this was. Nothing as we just said, Colonel, is like a lot of this stuff [that] was theorized by crazy people like me that didn’t go to prom and was reading Legacy of Ashes by Tim Weiner instead. I actually did that. It’s a lot harder to show because you have to go through this very slow. But then you look at where we are now everything from Russian collusion to COVID to the stolen election to more and more and more it’s just one by one you’re seeing these things. It’s a very long and slow process but that’s what’s needed.

And one of the probably most critical factor in the whole thing is none of this would have come out if it weren’t for the courage of Donald Trump. You force it into the open because you actually fight. Every other previous president either capitulated to it or got shot. You know, Ronald Reagan, it was a little bit of both. He got shot and then, increasingly he capitulated to it or really wasn’t in control, especially in his second term. But that the unique characteristic. Because I think as you said people are experiencing it. I’ve talked about it for 50 years. It was a little teeny tiny part of the population that was ready for it. Then a large part of the population goes in there, supports Donald Trump sees all the things that happened to him, sees more happen to him, see him stand up and fight, forcing more and more of this out into the open.
[I am going to add, I think the 2008 mortgage crisis was the wake-up for a lot of people. We had the Tea Party, that the Elite tried to shut down by calling them racist and by starting up the AstroTurf group called ‘Occupy Wall Street’ It did not matter the Bank Bailouts using OUR MONEY was the shock that woke a lot of people up. — GC]
I think Trump is very conscious of that. I think he recognizes the role of populations as a strategic factor. He can do more when he’s got a population backing him. And that’s why all this disinformation crap, inside the MAGA movement is frankly one of the most dangerous things. It’s not the batshit crazy Democrats. They’re a given factor, right? But you know it’s the Tucker Carlsons and the MTGs [and] whatever is motivating them. The effect that it has is, if he can rely less on his base, that is an actual strategic factor.
But you look at it globally, a lot of people say, well Marco Rubio was much more conciliatory toward the Europeans. I frankly I don’t think he was conciliatory. But compared to JD Vance the tone was much less [harsh.] I think what Marco Rubio was doing, and this is I think the way the president functions, he wasn’t talking to the European leaders. He wasn’t talking to Kier Starmer or Macron. He was talking to the people. He was basically saying we need Europe to return to its traditions. You are a factor. Maybe you could change the direction of your country. I think Trump, the president and his administration are always, you know, thinking in those terms. I mean, even in terms of Israel, you know, at one point Trump said, “I’m more popular in Israel than Bibi Netanyahu.” And I’m sure that’s true. And he needs to become even more popular to be able to deal with that situation. But, you know, he I think he takes that into account.

So, I think the the first sign that everything had changed. That we weren’t any longer rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic was Trump’s fake news campaign.[laughter] Because that started instantly. It was my signal that everything had changed. He took on the mocking bird media.

I think that was critical.. because everything is downstream from that. It’s almost impossible prior to President Trump and the fake news campaign to find real news. Obviously Elon buying X has kicked that into high gear. But that was just like a fundamental shift of the axis for all of us to operate under. It allows people like Susan to have much more exposure in talking about reality as opposed to what is being shoved down our throats through the mockingbird media.

It’s absolutely the case. I’ll just reflect on my own experience.
For 40 years, you feel like a voice in the wilderness, right? Donald Trump comes along and basically breaks the matrix, and then what you see, and we all see this in terms of the kinds of responses that we get, in the various venues and forums that we’re on, people are so hungry to put the pieces together. It’s like they knew it. They knew something. One of the most visceral responses I got was the show I did in response to Marco Rubio’s Munich speech where I picked up on the fact that he said de-industrialization was a conscious policy. It wasn’t a mistake. My mind went back. [To the] Council on Foreign Relations 1977, [who said] the control disintegration of the world economy is a legitimate objective so we can destroy sovereign nations. And when I did that show, the comments that I got were where you could just see people were saying, you know, that’s what I thought. I knew it, but you’ve now given voice to the fact that the horror that I’ve lived through, this process of disintegration of the United States and other countries was not random. And and that’s one of the key, tools of the elites. They want people to feel helpless. It’s a random world. Shit happens.
It certainly was for my generation. That’s what they tried to do with us with the two Kennedy assassinations. You’re sitting there, 14 years old, the president gets killed [by a] crazy lone assassin. Definitely on purpose. So, back to Susan’s point about the 60s again. The psychological operations, all of it was planned. Just like what she was saying about the deindustrialization, all of it is planned. And my light bulb moment in all of this was going back and reading the Fabian Society’s agenda. And you find out as early as the late 1800s, they’re talking about one world government. I was shocked by that. So let’s go with an easy, recent notice issued on 9/8/25. How many of you were aware that for every illegal caught or ordered to be removed in absentia that the subject invader is ordered to pay $5 K to the federal government? Some will say, so what, they will not or cannot pay it. Well, that is not exactly correct. It means the feds can go after all assets, garnishee any pay, connect dots back to employers and known associates, and so on in pursuit of this fee. If convicted of a crime or ruled to be deported for illegal entry the subject also forfeits all of their remaining assets. The pursuit of those assets by authorities reveals more illegals as well as those that harbor, supply and employ them.
You did not have to hear or read that from another source, you could read it for yourself and then think it through. But there is more that is interconnected and will also stand the test of legal challenges.
Here is another one from 8/28/25 that was a proposed rule.
Unlike most nonimmigrant classifications, which are admitted for a fixed time period, aliens in the F (academic student), J (exchange visitor), and most I (representatives of foreign information media) classifications, with limited exceptions, are currently admitted into the United States for the period of time that they are complying with the terms and conditions of their nonimmigrant classification (“duration of status”). If incorporated and you think this one through, it eliminates the perpetual foreign invader who operates under the guise of student/exchange visitor/foreign media/etc. authorization. There is a fixed leave date. To stay they have to reapply and be vetted all over again. This time, not by Demoncraps as long as the patriots remain in power.
No more spies, operatives and such being here for decades as under the previous rules. For a recent example, like a supposed former student from Portugal who remained embedded in America for over two decades. He returned some 25 years later to Brown University where he had spent less than a year in school, to murder two and wound nine students of a more conservative persuasion in a study class. With the DHS rule change discussed above, that assassin would have been exited by patriots from America many years before the horrendous events as will future lone wolves using that immigration cheat code. A true judicial bombshell landed, not the grandstanding media type. It obliterated its target – leftist attorneys, judges and politicians who try to circumvent immigration laws. If challenged on the SCOTUS level I predict it will be upheld, if they agree to hear it at all. The legal basis for the decision is solid and reflects the original intent. Especially after the SCOTUS just ruled 9-0 on another case that immigration judges are the path for all asylum claims.
This decision is massively important – one of the most important of the year. It means that if you are an illegal alien who never presented themselves at a port of entry, and ICE finds you, you can and must be detained without bail.
After reading the order I concur with the follow message, which could be addressed to illegal or wannabe immigrants as well as patriots:

The knock on effects from this will be enormous. You can either accept deportation or sit in immigration detention while your lawyer wastes their time on futile filings, and then get deported when you lose.
This will lead to a lot more illegal aliens simply giving up on their frivolous court fights and accepting deportation, which will help relieve the court backlogs. This will also lead to many more illegal aliens self-deporting. Would you rather pack up your things, settle your affairs, and get a free flight and $2500? Or would you rather try and hide from ICE, knowing that the moment they find you, you will never breathe free air in America again?
It’s a much easier choice.

I erroneously posted ~20′ snake, a couple doors down and behind our housing unit, Easy Street, Binictican, Subic Bay, Philippines.
Went searching for a picture.
Likely it was this snake.
This is a 17-foot long, 175-pound reticulated python. Found in the back yard of Binictican Navy Housing at Naval Station Subic Bay in 1986. This snake was cooked and served at JEST (Jungle Environment Survival Training School) to the staff and family members at a division picnic. When it was cut open, there was a wild pig inside, its last meal.
The snake was caught 1981/82. Above “1986” was either another snake caught at essentially the same location. Most unlikely. More likely, 1986 the year the snake was BBQ’d, at a Division gaggle of sorts. I do know the snake was fed baby monkey’s periodically. But, Only when he was hungry.
DW face lit up when I showed her the above picture. She recollected when it was caught a few doors down, from our housing unit. Talk of the neighborhood that day.
Enough reminiscing, correcting the record AND mostly wanted to share, what I figure is a really cool snake story.

Just five years later, in After America: Get Ready for Armageddon, Steyn lamented that America was also in serious danger of joining the rest of the Western world in an unavoidable decline. Fifteen years later, not only is the mood in Europe and the U.S. against America, but our neighbors, Canada and Mexico, too, are hesitant to join us in confronting a three-pronged threat: Islamists, the unchecked Trojan horse tactics of communist China, and the drug and smuggling cartels at our borders. Canada has fallen under the influence of both Islam and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), while powerful criminal cartels aligned with China have a firm grip on Mexico.

Europe, as Steyn observed, has become unrecognizable. The influence of so-called liberalism, far from transforming all nations into Sweden and eradicating war, has altered the very character and demographics of the continent. Ask a Jew in Malmo, Steyn writes, if you can find one! The same story is unfolding in Britain.
Commenting in The New York Post, Melanie Phillips states that Britain’s response to the issue of Muslims being smuggled into the country and their involvement in terrorism, espionage, and arms smuggling has been “craven.” Muslims refuse to integrate into British society, and the government has gone out of its way to accommodate them, allowing them 85 sharia courts so far.
Instead of addressing this security crisis, Prime Minister Kier Starmer’s government suppresses criticism of Islam by raising the false idea of Islamophobia. Tommy Robinson, who the previous government jailed for criticizing Islam, mass Muslim immigration, and Muslim rape gangs, still faces danger and is labeled an extreme right-winger. Similarly, in a serious violation of free speech, political candidate Paul Weston was charged in 2014 with a racially aggravated crime for quoting an excerpt critical of Islam from Churchill’s The River War.
For decades, Muslim gangs have been grooming and assaulting underage girls, but Starmer has been hesitant to investigate and prosecute them. He also ignores widespread antisemitism among Muslims. In 2024, a Jewish man was prevented from crossing a street under threat of arrest for being openly Jewish and thereby “antagonizing” pro-Palestine marchers. Britain’s recognition of Palestine following the October 7 massacre by Hamas signals Starmer’s capitulation to Islam.
Starmer’s interactions with China symbolize Britain’s waning influence and capitulation to the CCP. During his trip to Beijing, the prime minister was not met with the usual protocols. CCP leader Xi Jinping gave Starmer a brief, informal meeting and spoke to him as if he were subordinate.
Starmer failed to press Xi on several key issues: human rights, especially the detention of activist Jimmy Lai; cyberattacks on British companies; covert Chinese interference in the UK government; and trade deficits. He approved China’s plan to build a massive embassy near critical fiber-optic cables and sensitive U.S. infrastructure, a move that could threaten intelligence partnerships with the U.S.
To our north, Canada has increased the risk by entering a new “strategic partnership” with China, shifting Canada’s economy away from its long-standing reliance on America. During his visit to Beijing, Prime Minister Mark Carney avoided discussing Jimmy Lai’s incarceration, the execution of seven Canadians in China on drug charges (which is ironic since China is a major exporter of fentanyl precursors to North America), and interference in Canadian elections.
Carney returned with agreements on cooperation against drug trafficking and cybercrime, along with a pledge to increase cultural exchanges. Given how China operates, security experts have no doubts about what ‘cooperation’ and ‘cultural exchanges’ will actually entail. Additionally, it is hard to understand how a liberal government has reconciled with an authoritarian regime.
At the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Carney expressed excitement about recalibrating Canada’s relationship with China: he stated that Canada had aligned itself with the “new world order,” would pursue global governance, and move away from the U.S., its largest trading partner. He urged other countries to do the same.
According to a 2025 report by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), Muslim Brotherhood organizations have infiltrated Canada’s civil, academic, political, and economic sectors. They promote radical Islamist ideology using federal funding.
The report provides strong evidence that Canada has become a hub for money laundering and a gateway for terrorists entering the U.S. But instead of designating these groups as terrorist organizations, Carney was a guest at a recent Eid celebration hosted by the Brotherhood-linked Muslim Association of Canada.
Unchecked immigration, wokeism, the romance with multiculturalism, and a fragile national identity have allowed not only the Brotherhood but also networks connected to China, Russia, Iran, and Qatar to entrench themselves in Canada. Collectively, they pose a serious security threat to the U.S.
A recent seizure of carfentanil—originally developed to tranquilize elephants—revealed that the U.S. now faces a dangerous flow of synthetic drugs across its southern and northern borders. The drug was being smuggled into the country by a Montreal-based cartel.
China is the primary source of raw materials and equipment for drug production, including fentanyl. Therefore, there is reason to suspect a Chinese connection, similar to Mexico, where Chinese gangs have established themselves on the drug scene. These gangs, it goes without saying, cannot operate without the CCP’s approval.
The Bureau’s report on the carfentanil seizures quotes former DEA chief Derek Maltz: “We are getting crushed with carfentanil, xylazine, etizolam, isotonitazene—all those new psychoactive substances which are coming out of China. So, it’s just another phase of the attack.”
In 2023, there were over 72,000 drug-related deaths, mostly caused by illicit fentanyl brought into the U.S. from Mexico by sophisticated cartels, armed with RPGs and exploding drones, and collaborating with China. Chinese gangs have extensive networks in Mexico’s drug hubs, laundering money through cryptocurrencies and digital payment platforms.
Mexican governments have long collaborated with the cartels, which are viewed as sources of profit and power. However, President Donald Trump has pressured the current Mexican government to combat the cartels. The recent killing of Jalisco cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes—‘El Mencho’—in a joint U.S.-Mexico operation highlights Trump’s dedication to securing the border and stopping trafficking.
If America is to stand alone in the asymmetric war launched by China and the Islamists, we need strong leadership to exert pressure and defend our borders. Those are the lyrics of a uniquely American folk spiritual in the public domain dating back to pre-Civil War days. These particular lyrics are from one of many versions of the same song. It is one of many songs from the era of which there is no known songwriter credited. A version of these lyrics were published along with many others from the period in The Christian Songster in 1858. These songs were sung at camps, prayer meetings, social gatherings and revivals. Perhaps you know or have heard some of them.
When you review them they have common themes that center around the belief that this earth is not our home. The songs are filled with both joy and great sorrow. A strong theme of hope for better times and reunions with loved ones abound throughout. And of course, they speak to the Savior of all mankind, Jesus Christ, as well as the adversity of Satan. Below is one of my favorite versions that match the lyrics above. It is hauntingly beautiful to go with the war imagery.
The Historical Period
Since these songs were originated in America and primarily composed in the lead up to the Civil War, the themes would reflect the attitudes and beliefs of common Americans during the period. The songs pull back the curtain on what people thought, believed and experienced. It appears the commie leftists have not yet found a way to hide these truths.
With our nation being founded under God’s Providence by a vast majority of Christians in its growing population, we can gain understanding of how the two centuries evolved from the pilgrims arrival in the words of these and other songs of the period. What we discover is they are remarkably consistent with those colonial predecessors.
Perhaps they knew what was about to come to this great land as the drumbeat of the impending Civil War became louder. Wars, violence and hardship of some sort always seemed to be present anyway. They also knew they would be the ones called upon to fight those wars and suffer the great losses that were to come. They longed for a better future and many saw that as only happening when they went to their eternal “home”.
So let’s move this along with some quality versions of the song. Pick and choose your flavor, or all of them when you get time.

Conclusion
Our American heritage offers strong clues of who we have been and are destined to be. We just need to pay attention and look for the evidence. Today we found evidence in an American folk spiritual song from two centuries ago. What we learn from it and others from the period is that four centuries have come and gone since the Pilgrims arrival and we have been searching for peace that America gives us the opportunity to find… as long as we continue to fight for her and each other.
Meanwhile, Christians know this world is not our home, that we are Wayfaring Strangers. Through Christ we have a heavenly passport to our eternal home. We are just passing through doing God’s will while here. There is no place like home when we are born again citizens of God’s Heaven.

THE STUFF
This is a gift for Gail. It is about a Scottish explorer of Africa, by the odd name of Dr. Mungo Park. It is a brilliant bit of insight into the early days of the British Empire.
Up to my neck in “AI slop” videos about Dr. Park, I found this human-created GEM by pure accident. But it has a very different take.
Another “fun” day of living in hillbilly land happened a couple of days ago. Thought I would share. I am sure many of you have experienced fun days of your own through the years.
We were awakened at 6 AM by a call from Daughter. Oh no, was the first thought. Hope it is not something bad with Son IL since he is on night shift. Nope, wasn’t that. Hope one of their family is not sick. Nope, wasn’t that.
It was her telling us the Fire Department had just left. It had rained all night and was still raining. In that rain, three FD vehicles and 10 personnel had arrived on their short cul-de-sac street in all of their gear in the wet yard and mud before going into their home.
The house had filled with smoke and the alarms had gone off at about 5 AM while Daughter and grandkids were asleep before SonIL got off his shift at 6 AM and headed home. Scared the kids and mom as well. The FD checked the nearly new package unit heat pump we had installed when they completed their addition and remodel this time last year. They found the exterior circuit breakers were hotter than they should be and pulled the disconnects. The HVAC unit (good name brand) and new ductwork had been repaired twice under warranty as the installation had been improper by an inexperienced crew. So our first thought was, “not again.” But no evidence of related problems or fire was found anywhere they looked. The smell was plastic and electrical, but had dissipated. The FD gave the all clear and left the scene not long after SonIL arrived from work.
SonIL was worn out from a night of DUI’s, domestics, shoplifting, etc. He needed sleep. So ole dad headed to the scene with his morning coffee. But before SonIL went to bed and I arrived, he decided to check the crawl space; the area that the FD apparently forgot to check. There is a bit of new wiring there from the addition as well as a sump pump that had been installed by the original builder. SonIL quickly determines he most likely found the problem. It seemed to be near the old sump pump from the smell in the space. He also remembered the pump making some loud noises two weeks before, however, it had reverted to normal and was working.
Even after I arrived it is continuing to do its thing about every 15 minutes from the pooling from the heavy rains. Water makes its way in around the footer downhill to the spot because the original builder had made the opening of the package HVAC too low to the ground. We have attempted numerous fixes, but nothing has worked to completely stop the problem, which is typically minor. Until that “fun” day.
The family is on a contract with a really good HVAC provider that also has plumbing and electrical services. SonIL called them and gave me as the contact person. He then went to bed after I arrived to try to get some sleep since he had another work night ahead of him. They were two officers short on his unit and shift as it was. Calling in for a day off was not going to happen.
The first on the scene less than two hours later were the electricians. One headed under the house while the other checked the breaker panel. They talked on their phones and the one under the house sent photos of what he found. We were in luck because that guy is also good at plumbing and discovered the issue as the sump pump along with how the smoke and electrical burn smell got into the house. All new wiring checked out good and to code. However, he noticed the elbow on the dryer exhaust pipe to the exterior had fallen off the pipe leading inside the house onto the ground. The laundry room is right next to the return air duct in the hall. So, every time the HVAC had come on since it fell (within the past year), the system was creating a vacuum into the house for crawl space air. A bad thing had led to a good thing of finding a major issue that could have led to far worse outcome.
Funny how those things work out sometimes. It is as if a somebody is watching out for all of us during our “fun” days. But I digress. 😉
The existing sump pump had been wired to an existing non-GFI circuit to another part of the house. That is a problem. Had it been on a GFI, it would have likely tripped the breaker when SonIL first heard the noises previously. The pump was extremely hot to touch and it appeared to have burn marks where the wiring connected. Bingo. The electrician noted there was no check valve on the pump. Problem. That should always be there. There was no weep hole on the intake pipe. That’s another problem. Will not go into the whys here, just know you need them so yours will not do what this one did. All of that contributed to the pump burning its motor partially, probably 50%, which explains how it was continuing to pump a small amount of ground water.
So, a call is made after my approval to the plumbing department and they sent a pro out within an hour. He checks it out, confirms the need, shows the damaged and problem areas, determines the options, goes back to get the one I selected and returns right after lunch. Less than an hour later he was done. The electricians planned to return once that was completed. The office called me and said it would be an hour before they arrived. Daughter left work early and had arrived to take over while her husband slept. I headed back to the house to clean up and eat a sandwich before returning to answer questions of the electricians.
That’s when the truly funny stuff happened.
While at home I received another phone call. SonIL had awakened before the arrival of the electricians. I had left word with Daughter that the heat pump was not working and that it was getting cool in the house. So she sent him out to check the circuit breakers and it turned out the disconnects had not been reinserted. Since we knew the source of the problem was not the heat pump, he reinserted. Literally within seconds, the entire house lost power!
Panic ensued. He called me and asked what happened and what he should do. I told him that the first thing was to check with neighbors to see if they had power. The second thing was to not panic, the electricians would be there soon if it was something within the home.
Daughter checked with neighbors – they were all out of power. At this point SonIL thought he has caused a power outage in the entire neighborhood!

Meanwhile I checked the power company’s outage map and there was an outage for 1300 customers in that immediate vicinity. SonIL is suspecting that, nah, he could not have caused that. Daughter calls a fire fighter friend and she tells her there had been a car accident, the FD was on the scene, and that it caused the outage. She lets me know, but SonIL is on the other side of the property and unaware. The electricians, who had been delayed by another 30 minutes getting there, pulled up into the driveway.
I caught them and told them what happened, that seconds after SonIL had reinserted the disconnects in the breaker the power went off for the whole area. They agree to play along. SonIL comes from around the house minutes later and they asked him, “What in the world did you do?! Don’t you know not to reinsert those disconnects until we have cleared the fault?!” Panic returned to SonIL’s face again. He began melting down.

We all burst out laughing and let him up, told him the truth. He was a good sport, but very relieved. It was probably good all of his cop and personal arsenal were locked up. I suspect the electricians will get pulled over one day when in town where he works. Paybacks are hell, ask the Supreme Leader.
The rest of the repair went well. New circuit pulled with GFI breaker in the box as well as receptacle under the house. Problem solved. Another “fun” day in paradise.
