On the semi-Q-centennial
As our nation’s 250th birthday approaches in just hours, I wish to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you who is reading this, for being here.
Many others have come and gone, but you have remained. You have persisted. You have persevered.
The Q movement is/was/will be a worthy endeavor. I find it somewhat humorous to say that, when we’re not fully sure what the Q op actually was, or who was ultimately behind it, but I do know this – the Trump administration “played ball with Q” very well, and continues to do so.
The fact that you chose to take part in this thing, despite not knowing exactly what you were signing up for, and that you ultimately did bear whatever costs you incurred for following Q, is something that I admire, and it is why I respect YOU, as an individual.
I love the fact that the Trump administration is now not only openly referencing the Q postings and movement memes, but has strongly linked “Q” to “quantum”. You should note that the word “quantum” never appears in any of the Q drops. I find that fascinating in a good and perhaps very professional way.
Of course, everything “Q clearance” is deeply tied to quantum mechanics, so I’m not particularly surprised that “Q” is now being linked to “quantum science” – including quantum computing. We are in exciting times, and our VSG POTUS has fully embraced the “big Q” of science.

As you celebrate this weekend, please say a prayer for those members of our crew who are no longer with us, and particularly those who are no longer in this world with us. Note: It is a commandment from the Lord Jesus toward the end of his ministry on earth, so it is pretty important to pay attention. It is also consistent with Old Testament scripture instruction, as He always is. We must love one another. That means we pull out all of the stops for the benefit of one another. No holding back, do just as He does for us. That type of love is intentional, it requires action, it requires giving of ourselves even when it us uncomfortable or even painful.
The cause of Christ cannot be advanced without loving one another as He loved us. Take note, America.

Final Health Updates
Since my authoring is winding down, I thought it would be helpful for some on here for me to update the health situations and progress of wifey and I that are connected to past posts. I apologize in advance for the length of this daily, but there is much to discuss. I hope the information proves helpful to you.
Wifey
As some may remember, my rock star wife went through a rough random eye infection upon return from our Fall Frolic the year Helene hit the area in 2024. The infection that caused the corneal ulcer was a small, white blob in one eye and lab tests were inconclusive. A series of antibiotic drops were prescribed and over several months cleared the infection. However, she had serious lingering vision issues and recovery was slow. After healing the infection her vision only returned to 20/60 corrected using her recently prescribed, pre-infection lenses. She had floaters along with cataracts that the ophthalmologist wanted to correct. Wifey was reluctant due to family members who had limited success with the procedure as well as her being allergic to latex, despite assurances from the doc they could adjust. She has minimal trust in the medical community, so that went nowhere fast.
She told the doc she wanted to try some things first and if she could not improve it, she would consent. He agreed (what else could he say?), but to check back in 6-8 months so that the eyes did not decline too far to be of assistance. We could tell he was skeptical. He looked at me and said, “She is one tough lady, isn’t she?” I just nodded affirmatively. However, that is the moment she decided to take my research about the issues and recommendations to heart. God led her to conclude she should go a different way. Some of the supporting information came from sources and linked information on here for which we are very grateful.

I posted awhile back that we both were using DMSO eye drops. I have slowed the use in recent months, but for over a year now wifey has continued twice per day applications of a 25% concentration with saline or distilled water while using sterile bottles/droppers. She takes a one week break every couple of months, then restarts. In recent months she has added a high quality castor oil that she lightly rubs on the eyelids at bedtime. She has also participated with me in the parasite cleanse using the IVM/Mebendazole combination last summer and an IVM cleanse in the past couple of months.
I am very happy to report that over that period, her vision returned to its formerly good, pre-infection condition. She is now 20/20 corrected with the same lenses. She does not need distance correction, only for reading. Of course this did not happen through traditional means or medicine.
We utilize a highly competent optometry practice. Our chosen optometrist in the practice and assigned tech were amazed at the results after the comprehensive exam that included extensive imaging this month. The doc knew the condition of the previously affected eye as she helped deal with the original infection before passing the case to the ophthalmologist. The formation of cataracts has actually been stopped in its tracks and may have receded somewhat. She no longer has floaters at all. Her eye health has improved to the point of the highly desired “see you in a year unless you need us” stage. That’s a massive win.
But there is MOAR!
Combined with dietary changes described below and daily walks; there has been an interesting, fantastic development. One day she forgot to bring her eyeglasses when we went grocery shopping. Her vision had improved to the point she simply forgot to wear them. It was a sunny day and she put on some wrap sunglasses that cover the eyeglasses that were in the truck. To cut to the chase, her forever present vertigo/Menere’s Disease symptoms disappeared. As I drove I was quietly shocked and secretly elated. No more jumps, twists and and yelps from the passenger seat when big trucks were near or a car approached from another direction at an intersection. Just calm, peaceful riding for a half hour each way.
As we pulled into our driveway, I mentioned it to her and she smiled. She noticed it as well. Now when we go places she may leave her glasses on or take them off if she detects the problem kicking in. Regardless, the trips are much more relaxed and easier on both of us. She had experienced the car motion induced vertigo issues for decades. At one time it got so bad that as a teenager, Daughter had stopped wanting to go on vacations with us because of the distraction and angst.
Gone. PTL!
Trade’s Results
My eye exam was much improved as well. The supposed early cataract formation of a half dozen years ago that my retina specialist diagnosed actually never formed. The dry form macular degeneration diagnosed over a dozen years ago never actually worsened. The floaters have been gone for some time. I did the DMSO off and on for about 6 months once a day. For me the driver for improvement has primarily been IVM, although I am confident the DMSO assisted to some degree. My vision had not changed over the past three years.
After over a year of experimenting by returning to normal lens, I found that the prism lens prescribed for me a few years ago by the old binocular vision specialist doc who helped Grandson #1 so much, were very beneficial in drawing my weak eye with the alleged worse dry macular degeneration back into more balanced vision. As a result I added the prisms back with the new glasses and am gradually adjusting to them very well.
At about 10 years old parasites of some sort got in my eyes; worse in one than the other. From family history records I learned I was given antibiotic drops that were manufactured by Schering-Plough, which was later acquired by Merck. During that time is when the optometrist determined I also had a “lazy eye” in the worse infected one and gave me exercises to retrain it. Whatever was prescribed did clear the infection, but I never really had normal use of the eye and over time I became strongly one eye dominant. The vision in both eyes remained 20/20, so I really did not know to be tested further. I just knew that as a teenager, my vision in baseball and later as an adult in golf was somewhat negatively affected. This was especially true with poor peripheral vision in one eye and was very apparent in vision tests as I hit middle age.
Based on recent exams I am starting to believe that old binocular vision doc knew what he was talking about when he told me I did not have macular degeneration. My symptoms could appear to be MD to other docs, however, it seems to me it is the aftermath from that parasite caused infection as a child. If it is dry MD, there should be even slow progression of the condition. There has not been. It has been in a stable state for a dozen years.
This probably gives credence to how my vision always becomes much sharper the day after taking IVM and why the floaters and early stage formation of cataracts disappeared after using it and DMSO drops. Improvement in eye performance would not be as likely for a MD sufferer. With no changes in the prescribed lenses for vision in three years, I may be on to something good. Will continue to monitor.
I also used a DMSO/aloe vera concoction described below for a couple of months on two stiff, arthritic fingers on one hand that bugged me for years. The condition is gone – no more stiffness.
I still have a bit of tinnitus in one ear that was left over from the Wuhan. The externally applied DSMO method treatment has not impacted it one way or the other. Chiropractic adjustment cut the ringing back about 50% which has been most appreciated. It appears to be nerve/CNS related in some manner. I have no restrictions in movement, so I can turn my head 90 degrees one way and it reduces. I can turn my head the other way and it slightly increases. Weird. Will keep looking at options for improvement.

For the record we no longer have the need to use the excellent chiropractor that helped restore our alignment. She did a great job. All is well and being maintained. However, if needed we will not hesitate to return.
Recently, from recommendations of a couple of knowledgeable medical authors, I concocted a DMSO/pure Aloe Vera gel/essential oil blend to use for arthritis and joint inflammation issues. Wifey also has been using the DMSO with castor oil or my concoction for her arthritic hands/fingers as well as surgically repaired knee. There has been strong improvement in flexibility and appearance. My own flexibility in the lumbar region where I have spinal bone spurs has also improved. Will see how it goes long term, I expect it to go well.
Not bad for a couple of seventy somethings. DMSO and IVM work for us, folks, and not just to ward off COVID with IVM. We will continue to use. Add in the benefits of the high quality castor oil.
IVM clearly works on parasites of various types throughout the body. Its use helps the immune system of the body to do its thing. Wifey uses for cleanses only unless she has a respiratory illness coming on. During her cleanses, she gets the yucky bowel movements associated with her sinus drainage as well as the parasite die off and release. She experiences the under the weather symptoms for a few days. Having already gone through that a couple years ago while continuing to use IVM prophylactically, I no longer experience much, if any, side effects.
The cleanses are possibly contributing to wifey’s lack of vertigo along with the eye improvements. IVM has long been prescribed for river blindness. However, there may be another interesting connection. Over twenty years ago she had an allergist test and treat (shots) her allergies on two occasions and covering a period of five years. The shots provided modest benefits overall. However, from the testing we know she is very allergic to candida albicans, a fungal induced yeast, as well as specific molds, tree pollens, etc. Exposure causes her body to go into histamine overload. It added to her vertigo events due to sinus pressure. For years we kept an epipen handy as well as a bottle of Benadryl. A half dozen years ago her every day had an excessive amount of throat clearing from the sinus drainage. At one point she lost her voice from it for about 6 months. The drainage strongly affected her sleep. At times she was just miserable, in a state of just existing and trying to cope daily.
We live in an environment that has high fungal concentrations due to vegetation and climate. It is what it is and she has suffered all of her life from it. That is until the recent IVM related cleanses that also addressed gut health as a side benefit. Poor gut health can also add to the histamine imbalance. The intentional dietary changes of removing sugar, and addressing her eyes dramatically improved her situation. She is now off all antihistamine drugs and just uses Flonase for the pollen after living on Zyrtec D at times. Her condition is not perfect, but is greatly improved. Below are good summaries that I found informative and accurate about candida albicans.
While still on the subject of eyes, we spoke with the optometry practice staff as patients walked in and out after purchasing bottles of eye vitamins/supplements. We asked and a few buyers and the staff gave rave reviews. The practice did not try to sell it to us. They said they could not keep enough inventory to supply everybody. All three docs and the staff take them. The following is the product,
Turns out it can be ordered direct from the company or Amazon at the essentially the same price. We have been taking for most of this past month. My December follow up exam will determine any personal progress, however, I have reason to hope for a good outcome.
Which leads to the next bit of news. Wifey and I decided it was time to lose some weight for good. We want to be more active to keep up with the grandkids and for me to teach them the game of golf. It was back to full Keto time for me and modified Keto for her. Her goal was to weigh the same as when we married over 40 years ago. My goal was to get to my baseball playing weight in college. I had to lose a bit more than her as a percentage. We have both succeeded. The difference in our health and energy levels has been nothing short of amazing. I kept the exercise to moderate and never went hungry at all. By keeping it to about 6 lbs. per month my body adjusted well along the way. Again, it was about modifying my nutrition to fit my goals and my gut health; not about a diet.
We also wanted to do this to see the effects it had on our blood tests from our physicals. Cholesterol was creeping up each year with both of us, especially with wifey. Her glucose was nearly 20% above the healthy range to go with blood pressure issues that she has dealt with all of her adult life. Wifey also had the goal of weaning slowly off of Amlodipine and Hydrochlorothiazide. We had zero doubts that the former contributed to her cholesterol trending up through the years; it is a little discussed side effect. When she began taking it her cholesterol also began increasing and never decreased again even when controlling her weight and nutrition. She never has liked the way the meds made her feel, but felt she had no alternative. In a previous daily I stated that we felt traditional medicine had won this battle. It turns out it was only a short term benefit that led to even worse average BP and cholesterol as well as spikes in BP and heart rate.. Which would have eventually led to more Big Pharm solutions that would lead her closer to death.
Turns out there was a way for her to exit the “system” that often destroys. The first step was to stop blindly trusting traditional medicine and the related food pyramid. Do your own research and adapt to your situation. Second was to address the nutrition and get to a healthy weight. Third was addressing her eye issues. The eyes are not only the windows to the soul, they interconnect with all the sensory areas of the body. Fourth was to cleanse the body of parasites and work on related gut health. Gut health is not one size or type fits all. Fifth was to become more fit, get the blood circulating daily. The last was to find the right combo of supplements and vitamins that worked specifically for her as she weaned off Big Pharm.
Bingo. We found that last one in Berberine (NOW brand). Other brands may work as well. The BP fell almost immediately after she started on a one third daily dose of it along with her two prescribed meds. No more spikes at all. In fact her BP fell too far. Several mornings when she got up and tested she would be in low 90/low 50 range. So, she cut the doses of prescribed meds in half. Her BP moderated up to 110-120/65-70 and remained there. This went on for a few months with no troublesome spikes. Then she moved to a two thirds dose of Berberine and went off Amlodipine completely. Her BP and heart rate remained stabilized in the same range and she has continued to have zero troublesome spikes. She plans to dump the half dose of Hydrochlorothiazide soon. She will maintain the prescriptions as a precaution until she is in the clear.
All of that was going on at the same time as the DMSO, IVM, castor oil, weight loss, nutrition changes, fitness walks, and so on. Now she is going off the meds, uses Berberine, takes some multi-protein collagen (Ancient Nutrition brand) in her morning coffee, uses Flonase for allergies, no longer suffers vertigo on car trips, sleeps like a log, and smiles a whole lot more. In addition she takes a multi and recently, the VisionEdge Pro eye vitamins.
Happy wife, happy life. So proud of her resolve and success even if we did need to buy her a new wardrobe. It was not expensive, us old folks are not all that picky.
My supplements have been the collagen, Aubergine recommended Nattokinase along with Serrapeptase, and more recently a third of a dose of Berberine leading up to our blood tests. My plan was to get the blood test results I discuss below and adjust as needed. Through the years I have tried many vitamin combos. Currently I take the eye vitamin daily along with a multi or CoQ10 a couple times per week. I have not been ill for about 15 months after I made changes and did the initial Parasite Cleanse. I take a prophylactic dose of IVM biweekly and additional doses if I detect any respiratory issues. My BP and heart rate are fine and have been all of my life – generally in the 120/70 average with an average resting heart rate of 52. I take no prescription meds and only Flonase for allergies. I hit eject on antihistamines a year ago and could not be happier about it because it tells me the underlying causes for their need are being addressed well.
Our emphasis recently has been on gut health. Dr. Steven Gundry’s research and recommendations are highly credible in our minds. As a result of learning more and with the help of my Keto based nutrition I have been able to reduce lectins, which have been undermining my digestion for decades. Quite simply I did not need all of the fiber my physician as well as gastroenterologist recommended at my last colonoscopy. Scraping the walls of my intestines with more fiber was a bad idea for my gut type. If I had continued I would be in deep doodoo or as worm food.

I was miserable at times and the practice was causing weight gain, bloating and constipation even with drinking large amounts of water. If I continued it would have led to far worse health outcomes. So, I changed in accordance to what I learned along the way and recently tested with Dr. Gundry’s research and information. So far, so good. Life has become much easier to live. Annual Wellness Physicals
After the usual instruction to draw a clock showing 11:10 (yes, the same time every year) and being given three simple words to remember and repeat to the PA later in the exam (one of us always gets “village, kitchen, baby”), the experience went well. We were very pleased with the attitudes of the providers this year. Somebody got through their heads that the patients are the bosses, not them. The real results of COVIDiocy and their patients ire about it may have inspired them to do better. They asked our level of interest in vaccines and tests instead of telling us we needed to do something. It had already been noted in our files about no vaccines. When we passed this time, there was no questioning of our decisions. Occasionally they would offer some helpful thoughts for what to look for with potential health issues and what they could provide as tests if we experienced it. It turned into a relatively pleasant experience for a change.
And yes, in usual Trade smartassery I asked if they wanted the clock drawing to be AM or PM. It never fails to produce a puzzled, “wut?” expression. Just can’t help myself sometimes.
It all worked out as hoped. Could not ask for better results. Wifey’s BP and heart rate were in a normal range for probably the first time ever in 40 years of going to that doc office. The white coat syndrome did not kick in. Mine was in the usual range at 118/72/64. No physical abnormalities noted in the rest of our exams.
The blood test data was excellent for both of us. Wifey was slightly high on glucose, but had dropped 10% from the year before. I had nothing high or low except LDL, which was moderately above range for both of us. HDL and ratios were all good and in range. The LDL thing has been an industry hot potato with many patients since they lowered the acceptable range this year. Wifey and I are not going to play their game. We are in the previously acceptable 120 range. We will do the right things for us to lower it a bit more and not concern ourselves with their BS unless we detect problems.
Since we have only been making our life changes since early February, this blood test was a huge improvement for wifey. Her total total cholesterol dropped by a whopping 60 points from a year ago! Mine dropped 26 points even with the added meats and eggs. When I go off full Keto and sub in a bit of plant related proteins, fish and other veggies it will drop further. It proved that at least for some of us who follow the Keto nutrition plan as recommended; that it does not always lead to increased cholesterol as pundits and some medical professionals assert. Our own providers were skeptical of how it would turn out. Perhaps they will reconsider, perhaps not.
As stated I plan to selectively reintroduce some more good carbs (more fish, servings, veggies, Keto friendly fruits, maybe some oatmeal) into my diet, The sugar cravings are long gone and neither wifey or I desire for them to ever return. Related desserts and snacks will remain a thing of the past as a staple of our nutrition. Snacks for me are primarily nuts along with beef and chicken sticks. I will begin taking a Butyrate supplement to help my gut lining and maintain the metabolism my body has adapted to with more active fat busting ketones. It should help digestion for my gut type, which is averse to lectin as discussed. As stated I achieved my initial goal for weight loss. I plan to lose another 5 pounds or so to provide room for the winter months of less activity. Regardless, my goal will always be to weigh no more than my college playing weight. It should be relatively easy to do with our joint commitment to better health and the knowledge we have gained in the process.
With all of the above improvements, we are not without the normal challenges of aging that requires assistance from traditional medicine at times. For example, wifey will be addressing some non-cancerous dermatology related issues over the next few months. I will continue to work on flexibility and strengthening my lumbar region and knees, so that I can remain as active as possible. My Teeter inversion table remains a useful tool along with regular yoga stretching and other exercises. If I live long enough I expect one or both knees to need replaced as some point as they are well worn from sports and life as I have lived it.
Who knows what is in store for us to face, but we now feel comfortable we are doing our best to mitigate challenges to health. We give all praise to our Lord for seeing us through these life changes. We want to finish this life well before He takes us home, but leave the time for departure up to Him.

I urge all who are reading this to chart their own path when it comes to health and nutrition. Research, consider all of the information, pray about it, and then go to work. What I have provided is what has worked for us and our individual bodies, environment and living conditions. Some of it could translate to your benefit, but that is your call. The cost has been minimal. The reduction in overall food costs and trips to doctor offices for problems and illnesses, especially poor foods and life choices induced, has more than offset the costs of a few relatively low cost supplements and vitamins.

What The Heck … Is That 30-Foot-Long Winchester On Top Of A Building In Cody?
On July 4, 1976, John Wayne paraded through Cody with a 30-foot-long Winchester rifle. 50 years later, that rifle was still sitting on a rooftop next to the Irma Hotel until it was temporarily taken down but it will make its glorious return by July 4.

Fifty years ago, the highlight of the Cody Stampede Parade marking America’s bicentennial celebration was a 30-foot-long .30-30 Winchester rifle, dominating a float that also carried legendary Western actor John Wayne.
That rifle has been sitting atop a storefront in downtown Cody since.
Everyone loves the giant Winchester, so they might have noticed when it recently suddenly disappeared from the roof where it had been prominently displayed since its trip down Sheridan Avenue decades earlier.
Like John Wayne himself, Cody’s giant Winchester rifle is coming back, better than ever, for another 50 years dominating Cody’s historic downtown.
“We’re putting it back to what it was in 1976, as best we can,” said Mike Darby, owner of the Irma Hotel and the giant Winchester. “I can’t confirm or deny what we’re going to do with it, but we’re hoping to have it done by July 3.”

It’s 1976, and the United States is starting down the barrel of its 200th anniversary. The Buffalo Bill Museum, now the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, decided to add its own ammunition to an already-loaded celebration.
July 4 was selected for the opening of the lavish Cody Firearms Museum. The addition of a massive Winchester collection, on loan from the Olin Corp., made it the world’s largest firearms museum at the time.
Adding to the excitement, the museum would be dedicated by the grand marshal of that year’s Cody Stampede Parade: “The Duke” himself, John Wayne.
The Husky Oil Co., founded in Cody in 1938, decided to make its own big contribution to the festivities.
What better to celebrate the bicentennial, Wayne, and the Cody Firearms Museum than with a giant replica of one of the American West’s most iconic firearms?
Denny Shore was the head of Husky Oil’s activities committee at the time. His wife, Sue, remembers it well.
“The theme for the parade that year was ‘Celebrating Winchester: The Gun That Won the West,’” she said. “Denny decided to call the people who make parade floats and asked if they could do a giant Winchester. They said yes, so they did.”
Shore doesn’t remember what company built the humongous rifle, but she remembers when it arrived on a flatbed trailer and was parked in front of her house.
“I loved it,” she said. “I’m a gun nut, and I have a .30-30 Winchester that I always hunted with. I feel like it was my own, and we were sharing it.”
Cody resident and photographer Dewey Vanderhoff was hired by the Olin Corp. to get photos of the parade, Wayne, and the rifle.
“Katy Brown’s ‘Buffalo Bill Dollies’ can-can girls danced in front of the big Winchester rifle at its public debut at the airport,” he said. “Everyone was there waiting for John Wayne’s ceremonial arrival on a Boeing 727 jet with his entourage and family.”
As the Cody Stampede Parade cruised down Sheridan Avenue, the Winchester was the center of attention. If that wasn’t enough, Wayne was riding on the same float.
Most parade floats quickly disappear when they reach the end of the route, but there was a brighter future for the giant Winchester.

‘Everything Under The Gun’
After its centerpiece moment in the parade, the giant Winchester was stored at the Husky Oil Refinery in Cody.
A few years later, Cody business owner Jack Skates opened Jack’s Sports & OK Hardware at 1137 12th St. right next to the Irma. The store came with the giant Winchester on the roof, where it had ended up after leaving Husky Oil.
“Their motto was ‘Everything Under The Gun,’” Shore said.
While the storefront changed hands multiple times in the next four decades, the rifle stayed right where it was. However, even the gun was under the gun.
Bob Carter owned one of the businesses, The Gunrunner, that occupied the space. He shared some details on the unique rooftop sculpture with the website Roadside America.
“It was only constructed for temporary display,” he said. “Some parts were made from cardboard. It held up for many years, but eventually required renovation and replacement with more permanent materials.”
Carter added that the giant Winchester was a replica of a 1968 Winchester 94 Buffalo Bill .30-30 rifle, making all the more appropriate for Cody’s bicentennial celebration.
Any knowledgeable gun owner knows firearms need regular care and upkeep. Even with more permanent parts, 50 years of exposure on a Cody rooftop made the larger-than-life Winchester a little worse for wear.

In May, the giant Winchester disappeared from the rooftop of 1137 12th St. It’s now getting some much-needed refurbishment.
Darby said the rifle was acquired by the Irma Hotel when it bought the building it was sitting on in the 1990s.
“It came at no extra charge,” he said.
Darby said the giant Winchester was in especially sorry shape going into this summer. If it was going to survive, it needed some help.
“The recent windstorms were hard on it, plus 50 years of weather damage,” he said. “It was about to fall off the building, so we got a crane to lift it up and put it on a trailer.”
The giant Winchester has since been dismantled and, essentially, rebuilt. Darby said everything that can be replaced is being replaced and reenforced.
“The barrel and the levels are made of wood, so we’re replacing what’s needed and putting better supports on the inside,” he said. “After dismantling it, we felt we could repair and improve it.”
Is dismantling a 30-foot Winchester rifle anything like the real thing?
“Not at all,” Darby said.
While they were working on the giant Winchester, Darby started looking at photos from the 1976 parade. He realized that there had been noticeable changes in the 50 years since its construction.
Since they had already dismantled it, Darby and his crew decided to restore it to its glory days (or “day”) in July 1976.
“The action on the gun was sort of a goldish bronze as it sat on the roof, but it was black in the photos from 1976,” he said, and there were several bands that went around the barrel to the stock that were bronze. “We’re going to paint those back to their original colors, or at least as close as we can get.”
If it’s already off the roof and being refurbished, why not take it for another slow spin through town?
The Cody Stampede Parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m. on July 3, so the giant Winchester will be ready for a glorious return on the 50th anniversary of its arrival.
“I can neither admit nor deny that rumor,” Darby said.
Reloaded For Another Century
Between June 30 and July 4, there will be a cavalcade of patriotic events and celebrations in Cody. The Cody Stampede Rodeo runs from July 1-4, and there will be three parades.
Darby encouraged patriotic parade fans to stick around for a day or two after the 250th celebration. The giant Winchester will cap off the festivities with another triumphant return.
“We’re putting right back on the building on July 5 or 6,” he said. “Hopefully, it’ll be there for the next 50 years.”

With the lead up to Independence Day and the 250 year celebrations well underway, I am using this daily to review one of the most important documents written in history in this author’s opinion.
One more time, let’s a look back at the author of the Declaration of Independence. Let’s venture into the mind of Thomas Jefferson as he wrote it and pay close attention to the immortal words that give definition to mankind in our great nation. The same words that every founding father who signed the document left untouched that flowed from TJ’s mind to the pen and onto the paper.
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. In my opinion, those are two of the most important and world shaking paragraphs ever written outside of the words of the Bible.
We need to better understand Thomas Jefferson as a person at age 33. We have questions. Why did he write these words the way he did? Why did all fifty five of the other founding fathers sign the document as written without change in that section? Knowing that may offer clues about its content. Knowing that might reveal who our nation is envisioned to be.
Perspective
To begin we need to consider what the childhood of young Thomas was like. What events and people helped influence him to write those words?
I contend that his parents, Peter and Jane, laid the groundwork for his beliefs with how they approached life and raised him. The hands that rocked the cradle, who introduced him to open dealings and helping all people regardless of station in life and culture, were the guiding force. The parents who introduced and routinely broke bread in their home with their friend, Ostenaco, the prominent Cherokee Chief, as well as associated with the early patriots in the area who became vitally important to the independence movement. These neighboring colonists made great impressions on him. These same parents worked hard, became guardians of the children of a deceased friend for a number of years, and operated both plantations during the period. They kept order in their home, on the properties, among the slaves and in their business dealings. These were the people who made sure the children of both families were educated by tutors, taught music and art, and encouraged to be well read even though neither had personally been given that opportunity in their youths. They were often seen enjoying community dances and events as a family.

While in Williamsburg, Timberlake and Ostenaco attended a dinner party at William & Mary College at which Ostenaco professed his desire to meet the king of England. A young Thomas Jefferson, then a student at the college, later wrote of Ostenaco:
“I knew much of the great Outassete (Ostenaco), the warrior and orator of the Cherokee. He was always the guest of my father on his journeys to and from Williamsburg. I was in his camp when he made his great farewell oration to his people the evening before he departed for England. You can see from their actions and words that Thomas and his parents exhibited selfless, giving attitudes and actions not unlike those that many of our founding fathers and mothers gave our young nation years later.
This upbringing led to his acceptance of all people regardless of who they were, their culture or their beliefs. It developed a curiosity to learn more, grow, build relationships and to have a strong work ethic. It was an easy transition for Thomas to become a supporter of the Enlightenment movement as he entered William & Mary and the law firm mentorship that awaited him at an impressionable age after his father died.
This Age of Enlightenment period produced an intellectual movement in Europe during the late 17th to the late 18th centuries that emphasized reason, science, and individual liberty over tradition and religious authority. This led to new ideas in philosophy, politics, and science; which in turn led to major social and political changes.
The colonies became fertile ground for the movement within education and leadership circles. It was also a study in contrasts that Thomas noted and adapted into his own observations and writings. The first Great Awakening of Christianity in the colonies had been initiated by Jonathon Edwards and continued by George Whitefield, John Wesley and others. The two life changing movements were basically occurring during the same period and awakening the minds and souls of colonists to a desire for better relations with all people. They sparked the fire that later raged within the hearts of American patriots.
Once again, we see the patriot movement leading to the formation of a new nation with a unique system of governing while running parallel with the increasing commitment of the patriots to Christianity and its principles.

The Declaration of Independence reflects both Enlightenment and Christian principles within the content of the writing of Thomas Jefferson. The authority of God over nations and peoples is stated as well as the authority and responsibility of mankind to rule itself and throw off oppressive governments.
As it applies to the colonies, in summary, Thomas was convinced that all mankind was quite capable of leading and governing themselves reasonably without dependence on Kings, royalty, and oppressive totalitarian forms of government. He had become a lawyer under the training and mentorship of George Wythe, learned science and governing philosophies of royal Governor Francis Fauquier, as well as increasing knowledge about medicine and empiricism from William Small. He developed a close friendship and association for life with future Constitution framer and POTUS, James Madison. Jefferson did not even feel the need to return from his post in France to work on and sign the Constitution because of the connection between the two men. All of these relationships provided major influence and support that informed his thought processes. He had become a scholar of many areas of life during those times.
He was also well in tune with the common man and truly listened and observed. The obvious evidence of this was the huge margin of victory in his second term election to POTUS, a margin that has never been repeated in election history for the position. His popularity as well as that of Madison led to the formation of the Jeffersonian Republican Party, which was formally known as the Democratic-Republican Party, and control of Congress as well as the POTUS for over two decades. The common people loved Thomas Jefferson and knew he had their backs.
It is with this understanding, along with his quiet observations from the words of other founding fathers during those days in Independence Hall that he authored those opening words above that set the basis for American life forever. The references to God are numerous as well as mankind’s responsibilities to each other. This sets the tone for the entire document.
There exists a sadness in the recognition that “all men are created equal” did not mean slaves of any skin color or culture at that point in our nation’s history. That came later and nearly all of the founding fathers expressed their understanding that the end of the practice was coming. However, Thomas recognized the plight of the enslaved and treated his own with compassion that including educating and keeping them together as families, while releasing them later in his life as society accepted it. In fact, despite his own wealth and standing in our national affairs, the aristocratic elites were never comfortable with Thomas Jefferson and his views of the world as I discussed in American Stories.
What It Means
To determine what it means to us 250 years later, we need to apply the words to our nation and lives today. Do any of the words we read sound temporary or only applicable to the times of that Revolutionary War period? Are there universal truths layered within that are timeless and interconnected with today?
Until the final two sentences of the subject text presented above there is no particular mention of the actual oppressors of Great Britain and the King. The words describe conditions that dictate actions by the people to produce better circumstances and consequences. There is no mention of class, station, race, culture, etc. of the people to which it applied. It might as well have been written for a different place, nation and time as it was then for the colonies.
That means that he and the signers viewed the text could be universally applied to this nation no matter the conditions or time period. Which coincidently, is exactly what has happened over the period and is happening within the America First MAGA movement today. The oppression from the cabal’s New World Order, Rules Based Order and other coercive attacks on humanity is being cast off as the Crown was cast off 243 years ago with the end of the war using this same understanding.
As the Declaration text indicates, it is our duty as American citizens to cast off all oppression and renew our government back into the principles of our founding documents in the spirit of our unanimously united signers of the Declaration of Independence.
As a personal observation, Thomas Jefferson and I have major differences in thought unrelated to the big picture of nation building and the Declaration. I am certain I would have found myself on the side of Alexander Hamilton relating to the economy and our nation’s business growth. From my many years in business and banking I am certain that innovation and manufacturing are primary drivers of wealth creation and it matters little who does the investing into our country as long as they do it The American Way and We the People receive great benefit.
That understanding is probably why I fully support the approach #45-47 has been charting and with most other initiatives he has undertaken. He is the most consequential POTUS since Abraham Lincoln in my opinion. The parallels regarding education, accomplishments and orientation toward all peoples from his youth throughout life is remarkable. The support of We the People for him is similar to Jefferson. He has our backs, we have his.
I look forward to the addition of his image on Mount Rushmore; joining the great Thomas Jefferson.

Why is America so unaffordable today?
There are a lot of reports today on affordability as the media campaigns for Democrats to take control of the House and Senate this November. Many of the reports talk about how much things cost today versus 2020, while intentionally neglecting to report how much of the unaffordability occurred during the four years of Biden and the Democrats imposing unaffordable policies.
On Wednesday, USA Today ran an article about housing. The headline, “Why so many Americans can’t afford housing anymore,” certainly implies that housing has become unaffordable under Trump, which is intentionally false.
But look at these four bullet points from the article. Three of them are related to housing and renting costs during 2024, the last year of Biden.
Only 1.1 million new households were formed in 2025 – a number roughly in line with the depths of the Great Recession over a decade ago – as student debt, a weaker job market, and anemic consumer sentiment made Americans wary of striking out on their own.
Similarly, only 11.2% of Americans relocated in 2024, an all-time low.
As of 2024, 20.7 million homeowner households (24% of the total) spent more than 30% of their income on housing expenses; 9.6 million spent more than half their income.
Renters may have it worse: roughly half of all households that rent, or 22.7 million, were cost burdened as of 2024, including 12.1 million that were severely burdened.
So why doesn’t the media report these easily obtained facts from Google AI about prices during the Biden years and so far during Trump?
Average cost of existing house Dec 2020: $309,800.
Average cost of existing house Dec 2024: $404,400, up 30% in Biden’s four years.
Average cost of existing house April 2026: $414,000, up less than 3% in 16 months, or lower than inflation and wage increases.
Median rent cost December 2020: $1,100 per month.
Median rent cost December 2024: $1,695 per month, up 54% in four years.
Median rent cost April 2026: $1,510 to $1,673 per month, or down while Trump is in office.
The reason the media rarely tells the truth about who caused housing unaffordability is the same reason they don’t tell the truth about how Obamacare made health care so much more expensive (and unaffordable).
Biden’s energy, immigration, and regulatory policies are what has made things so unaffordable today, not Trump. Trump is trying to fix the problems, but that takes time.

How about some fresh Veritasium? This one just came out a few days ago.
I personally love prime numbers, and the “twin prime conjecture” is very appealing for people who love them. It states that there are infinite numbers of “pairs” of primes separated by just TWO. Such as 11 and 13. Or 17 and 19. Or 29 and 31. Or 41 and 43. Etc. Although, like all prime numbers, the twins get rarer and rarer as the numbers go up – but the conjecture says that the twins just keep coming.
On the road to proving the conjecture, great progress has been made – including from unexpected number warriors. Here is the story of one such fighter!
