The implications for history – that we did not do this – or at least publicly went along with the opposite – are ASTOUNDING. To me, this is MASSIVE validation of my theory of Stefan Halper, and how he intersects two critical points in our nation’s history – the NIXON and REAGAN administrations. On the subject of Steve’s choice to move on, I will simply say the following.

I respect his wishes. Having once been something of an atheist myself (albeit corrupted at an early age by a religious caregiver), I can appreciate his quandary. Moving among communities on the internet is a normal part of life, and we have to make choices about where we spend our time. I have left other communities for here, and I can envision having to leave here, too, although rather unlikely at the moment.

Steve is welcome to return here in the future, if he wishes, but no matter what, I will wish him well on his travels, and hope we meet again, if not here, then elsewhere on the internet.
