Indeed, I now see the suppression of knowledge of the most readily available, inexpensive, extremely safe COVID therapeutics, as one of the greatest, saddest, and most horrifying instances of GASLIGHTING in history – not merely the history of science.
Humans on this planet were HYPNOTIZED into NOT USING the two most obvious drugs in their medicine cabinets – aspirin and antihistamines – which could have saved them from a new and sometimes deadly “cold”.
Ironic, isn’t it? The media tried to talk us us out of aspirin just before it would have saved millions of people from both the “clot disease” and even the “clot shot”.
Funny, that. But it gets worse.
My doctors and their nurses distinctly and repeatedly tried to steer me to acetaminophen (Tylenol) for COVID, despite the fact that there was, at that time, ESTABLISHED, PUBLISHED, SOLID, PEER-REVIEWED LITERATURE showing that low-dose aspirin reduces hospitalization and death from COVID-19 by around half. And the reason is obvious to anybody with a wisp of scientific understanding – even at high-school levels. Aspirin is a blood thinner and anticoagulant, and the bad effects of the disease (and the shots) are thrombotic. Simple.
If there was ever a time to take aspirin, it was for COVID. The suppressed FLCCC.net treatment recommends it. Why not the AMA?

Peter McCullough talks about this phenomenon of vaccine hypnosis in the scientific and medical communities, in his great interview with Joe Rogan, above. I think he uses a different term for it, but we’re talking about the same thing.
The hypnotic blindness toward active use of therapeutics was bad for HCQ and ivermectin, but it was even worse for antihistamines, because the deception got past even the most active members of the “therapeutic” community – MYSELF INCLUDED.
I was a HUGE backer of [HCQ + disease-conferred immunity] as the best therapeutic path forward, from the very beginning. I later began appreciating ivermectin, too, as the data rolled in.

The problem is, at the deepest part of the conspiracy, we were GASLIT into focusing on chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, and not gaining social momentum toward more readily available drugs (aspirin and common antihistamines) that could have REALLY changed the game – but which would have VERY RAPIDLY moved the global outcome away from the pointless, problematic, Gates-controlled vaccines.
Once you understand that we were CHUMPS who were CONNED away from antihistamines, you understand how smart these people REALLY are.
They’re tricky – SO tricky.
Hydroxychloroquine, and then ivermectin, WERE part of the gaslighting. We loved them, and still do, but don’t kid yourself. They are GOOD, SAFE, EFFECTIVE drugs. But BOTH are prescription drugs. They require doctors, and this brilliant chess move distracted the few honest doctors, looking for therapeutics, by a hidden, unconscious, alignment with “what they could do to help”.
THE PERFECT BAIT – for the “please help” scam.
It’s like putting a firehose in front of a fireman when there is a fire, and seconds to stop it. The fireman may not know that down under all that burning wood is a fire that would go out faster and better with something other than water, but they do the right thing, and go for the first and most obvious solution that appears, consistent with their own abilities.
We don’t like to think that we were suckered by a SECOND LAYER OF THE SCAM, but we were.
I was actually suckered by such a scam, years ago, in assisting the deceitful implementation of the current highly broken version of affirmative action in universities. It’s an interesting story, but I’ll save it for another time.
The point is, the best way to CON people is to GET THEM TO BUY IN ENTHUSIASTICALLY.
People usually don’t catch these masterful crimes until the crooks are long gone and got what they wanted. It’s infuriating, but the multi-layer “please help” scam is effective as – well – HELL.
Hollywood, of course, is quite familiar with such “plots”.
BUT ANYWAY…..
Let’s get down to business.
Up until now, the two, large-scale, clinically proven sets of antihistamines for COVID-19 have been the newest (cetirizine, loratadine, and fexofenadine) and one of the oldest (promethazine), but not one of the most obvious possibilities – diphenhydramine, otherwise known as Benadryl.
Well, it turns out that Benadryl has been showing ENORMOUS promise in the laboratory.

Now this particular researcher has been looking at a synergistic combination of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) with human lactoferrin, which achieves STUNNING results, in terms of ANTIVIRAL activity, albeit in vitro.
To quote the article:
The scientist who combined two widely available over-the-counter compounds that inhibited the novel coronavirus by 99% in early tests told WND he’s hopeful his treatment will be available “within months.”
“An FDA-approved treatment could be in sight within months if pharmaceutical companies utilize existing clinical trial resources,” said Dr. David Ostrov in an email interview with WND.
Let’s just quote that again for effect:

To which the only proper response is…..
But wait – there’s moar!
Sadly, I’m sorry, but anybody who is still embedded in Fake Science and Fake Medicine needs to understand what I figured out while I was in the belly of the beast.
The people at the top, in Washington, DC, are no longer there to help the people.
They are there to help themselves.
Solutions are controlled by RETURN ON INVESTMENT – not by saved lives – THAT is secondary.
Which is too bad, because antihistamines are a solid cure against DEATH, per the Spanish study, and have a robust mechanism in both Stage 1 AND Stage 2 of COVID, with Ostrov’s work proving actual Stage 1 antiviral activity.
Please read the following comments by the scientist, Dr. David Ostrov, behind the study.
The story started before SARS, when my lab was studying drugs that bind ACE2, the molecule that turned out to be the receptor for SARS and SARS-CoV-2.
We previously found that an antihistamine (hydroxyzine) bound ACE2, and in 2020 were able to test the ability of this drug to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in the lab. It was an “aha” moment when the data clearly showed that a common antihistamine inhibited the virus that causes COVID. Different scientists at the University of Florida College of Medicine used different isolates of SARS-CoV-2, and the results agreed with each other. An antihistamine can inhibit the virus!
We then realized that there may be similar drugs that could inhibit the virus, perhaps even over-the-counter drugs. But which drugs?
We collaborated with investigators and UCSF where they examined the medical records for more than 219,000 people tested for SARS-CoV-2. They found that usage of diphenhydramine was associated with a lower incidence of SARS-CoV-2. In other words, in this population, people were less likely to be infected with COVID if they used diphenhydramine.
Why would taking an allergy pill lead to lower risk of COVID? There could be many reasons, but is it possible that a simple allergy pill can directly inhibit the virus that causes COVID?
We did the experiments at the University of Florida College of Medicine, and the data was published in a peer reviewed journal. Diphenhydramine exhibits direct antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2. Diphenhydramine inhibits virus replication, inhibits virus shedding and inhibits host cell killing.
This is all wonderful news, but it NEVER penetrated the “vaccine hypnosis”, and here is why. Again, a quote from the investigator, Dr. Ostrov.
My prediction is that antiviral drug combinations, such as diphenhydramine and lactoferrin, will provide a similar level of benefit as Regeneron monoclonal antibodies, Pfizer and Merck antivirals, at less than 1/100 the cost of those therapies.
There you go. Right there. “Less than one one-hundredth the cost” is NOT what these companies, bureaucrats, and politicians want to hear. They may nod and say “wonderful”, but if it does not cause as much “other people’s money” to move as the vaccines, then nobody will champion it.
However, that does NOT mean that WE THE LAB RATS can’t use the knowledge to save ourselves.
Ostrov is not stupid, and he gives up some crucial data while preserving his scientific credibility.
AND I QUOTE:
Ostrov told WND he’s been in communication with people who wonder if their use of the compounds has helped prevent them from getting COVID-19.
He noted that “anecdotal stories are certainly not proof of efficacy,” but many people have contacted him about diphenhydramine and lactoferrin, and their results “are difficult to ignore.”
“For many people, they say everyone around them got COVID, but not them,” Ostrov said.
And they ask the professor if diphenhydramine and/or lactoferrin.
“Without placebo controlled clinical trials, we will not have a definitive answer,” he said. “The answer for now, though, is maybe.”
Ostrov mentioned a contact who takes a daily dose of Benadryl and regularly drinks milk. She said she had been in close contact for hours with someone who was hospitalized the next day for COVID-19. But after waiting five days from the time of exposure, she tested negative for COVID.
He cautioned that people “considering their own concoction should understand that our experiments were carried out with human lactoferrin, not cow.” And the lactoferrin he used was purified in a special way to enhance its antiviral properties and is not likely to be found on the shelf.
People should consult with their physician, Ostrov said, before taking any drug for a use other than its intended use.
“Even though historically there are relatively few adverse events reported for diphenhydramine and lactoferrin, it should be noted that long term use of any medication, or combination of medications, could have unexpected consequences,” he said.
Ostrov said he hopes that once FDA-approved, “people may benefit from this antiviral drug combination for two-to-three month intervals during each wave of COVID infections.”
Notice that while Ostrov VERY HELPFULLY admits there is some real life usage of the drugs going on, and some success, he also downplays the admission to a politically correct level, using excuses that are completely mitigating against accusations of “recommendation”. The man is not stupid. He’s getting the word out, while staying in the lanes that Fake Science demands he stay in.
BUT – and this should be very clear – it’s obvious that people CAN and WILL make use of this cure – particularly the Benadryl. Thus, Ostrov makes a nicely balanced warning about long-term use of Benadryl, which is known to be potentially problematic, but also probably not an issue for most people who are treating or occasionally/periodically preventing COVID-19.
And, of course, there are many other antihistamines which are KNOWN TO BE SAFE for long-term usage, which are (IMO, based on the Spanish work) acceptable substitutes for Benadryl.

One of the things to notice here is that this article was published over a year ago (December 2020), describing work that occurred over years before that, but that then ramped up under COVID during 2020.
In that ENTIRE TIME, at the same time Ostrov was doing foundational research, the clinical efficacy of THREE antihistamines was discovered, tested, demonstrated in a group of people, and published (March to September 2020) by the nursing home doctors in Spain. AND, during that time Dr. Chetty in South Africa demonstrated the clinical utility of promethazine in thousands of patients.
In a sane world, as soon as the Spanish results were RECEIVED for publication (September 2020), there should have been immediate emergency pre-publication for the benefit of clinicians. Instead, the paper was basically held until January 2021, when the vaccines were safely in production.
The SYSTEM is not designed to save lives in anything near an optimal fashion. It is designed to make money as a primary motivation, and – perhaps – THE primary motivation.
So why has Ostrov’s work apparently advanced no further toward treating people IN PRACTICE?
Because NOBODY in government or industry wants it. And they have OUR MONEY invested elsewhere.
Of course, that doesn’t mean there isn’t GREAT research going on. Just look at this confirmation of Dr. Chetty’s contention that antihistamines are useful in the treatment of “long COVID”.

Here is a guy – a recoveree – whose blood was found to be very lethal against SARS-CoV-2 – far more than most people’s blood.
Interestingly, the guy is something of a Benadryl addict due to allergies, and he took it during COVID.
Whether he took Benadryl prior to sample collection in July 2020 is unknown, but Benadryl is metabolized in the liver, otherwise by excretion to a lesser extent, so it’s possible that serum Benadryl could have enhanced the ability of any antibodies, by blocking ACE2 receptors while antibodies then bound to viral spike protein – a rather nifty tag-team effect.
You will see that this story is filled with coincidences – for example, the writer is the director of communications at the university that was running the study, and already knew the head of the study. He then volunteered to be tested, directly to that person, while doing a story.
And you know what I think of “their” journalists. LOW-GRADE SPIES AND PROVOCATEURS.

So the writer had COVID during the last week of March 2020, loaded up on Benadryl, finished out a very typical “good” case in 4 days, and very likely continued taking Benadryl, at least on occasion, for allergies.
AND I QUOTE AGAIN:

Now jump to mid-July 2020.
As George Mason University’s Communications Manager, I had received word in mid-July that the scientists had come across some positive initial results.
I soon met with Dr. Liotta at his office on George Mason’s Science and Technology Campus in Manassas, Virginia to discuss their findings. I’ve known him for a few years now after having previously worked with him on other projects, so we’ve had a good relationship for a while. I was about to leave his office when I casually mentioned to Dr. Liotta that the guy I lived with had become terribly sick with the virus in early April. I had been so certain at that time that a similar fate or worse also awaited me that I even penned a letter to my teenage son just in case. I considered myself incredibly lucky to have gone unscathed.
This is when he volunteered for the test.
Or so I believed at the time.
So I figured there was no harm in asking if I could join the several hundred volunteers who had already participated in the study. Dr. Liotta agreed and I returned a few days later to give blood and saliva samples as a late addition to the research. The whole process took maybe 30 minutes.
This is how the story wraps up.
I was still of the belief that I had somehow dodged the bullet back in April and never even considered that I might have already contracted the virus, let alone that it may have been I who passed it on to my housemate. I had no reason to anticipate anything whatsoever coming of my lab results.

This would indicate that when the solar insolation gets somewhere below 500 W m−2, other factors (like volcanoes) tip the climate into glaciation.
The Modern Warm Period was not in response to rising CO2 but was in response to the Modern Grand Maximum of solar activity now ending with “the current low level of [solar] activity, characterized by the highest ever observed cosmic ray flux as recorded by ground-based neutron monitors, the very low level of the HMF and geomagnetic activity” (Ilya G. Usoskin, Geophysical Observatory -Oulu unit.)
At the absolute worst, that is without anthropogenic influence (including early anthropogenic influence) some say we would already be deep into the next glacial inception. A linkedin contact link for a VP of Talent Acquisition at BLKBD goes back to Bank NY Mellon. Perhaps that is old data from a previous job. It did freak me out thinking about the interconnections of businesses and me without muckety.com to make graph sense of it all.
What initially struck me about the company name is the term “baud” was obsolete in the 1990s after we surpassed 9600 baud modems. Who uses an outdated tech term in their corp name and then IPOs on Nasdaq?
I keep thinking we need better job sites to exclude ideological jobs from tech work. It is such a waste of head space. Moreover, I suspect this little nugget might lead to big finance also pushing ideology. This one company has a market cap of $3 billion, IIRC. I’m not a finance person but it makes me wonder about possible schemes using our financial system to launder money through the stock markets. They are just numbers after all and whoever controls the software can control the output numbers.

This is like Gold and silver. Unless you buy ACTUAL METAL, the ‘certificate’ is likely sold multiple times.

There was indeed a surge of people a couple of years ago going into the gold futures market as a way to actually buy drop-it-on-your foot gold (and 100 troy ounces would probably hurt). They were frustrated with the fact that back then, in order to buy actual gold you had to go to a coin shop and pay two hundred bucks an ounce over spot. “OK, then, we’ll go to the Big Market and buy it there.”
Actually getting their mitts on the gold turned out to be a bit of a goat rope. In some cases the certificates that constituted “delivery” were for a quarter of a 400 ounce bar. Even if not sold several times, that makes things awkward.
As near as they could tell, however, they weren’t sold multiple times; there really was enough gold to cover all the positions at the end (there is NOT enough to cover all open positions during the trading phase, but each sell is considered to cancel out each buy, looking at it that way, you can buy and sell 20 times–as long as the number of each matches).
This reminds me of six banks being fined $5.6 billion in 2015 for a foreign exchange scheme. It had to do with the traders fixing the timing of the currency trades to skim off tiny amounts that added up to a lot and hurt their customers. Interesting thing about baud is that it represents the beginning, or perhaps foundation/expansion of telegraphy, and the “language” (Baudot Code) thereof.
So even though acoustic couplers back in the day were “lucky” to reach 110 baud (or even half that), giving rise to “waiting for Baudot” :), they allowed communication and data transmission where little or none was possible before. And the teletype gave rise to the TTY which allow deaf and HOH people to communicate. So there could be some good associated with Baudot.
Than again, the Black part of Blackbaud stinks of Blackrock, which is anything but good…

Example – Niacin. He recommends it, but I use Magnesium instead. Some people react badly to niacin, others react badly to magnesium – or both – or neither – but both are useful as antihypertensives and vasodilators. However, not all people are going to need them, IMO.
There is an assortment of therapeutics, with different risks and benefits, and an assortment of people with different needs and symptoms and risks.
We, unfortunately, have to practice “home medicine” on ourselves.
However, I do think that it will be useful to “compare kits” on a future thread.

Cetrizine is readily available over here, and often on sale. Not so sure about Benadryl. And “Doc Morris” (based in Holland) often has really good deals….. the “Real” stores have a deal with Doc Morris too…..
From what I’m seeing, Benadryl is not shown to be effective against Covid. So if you can’t get it, just as well.

Quercetin and Green Tea ECGC like HCQ and Ivermectin move Zinc into the cells. HCQ and Ivermectin are more powerful. Ivermectin has other properties that makes it useful AFTER you get sick.
Benedryl is a 4 hour antihistamine and will make you sleepy. DO NOT OPERATE A CAR!

Cetrizine, Fexofenadine, and Loratadine are 24 hr antihistamines.
Antihistamines help prevent the allergic reaction that turns into the breathing troubles (cytokine storm)
ALL but HCQ and Ivermectin are available over the counter as human medicine.
I and Steve and I think wolfie, rotate through the 24 hour antihistamines. Benedryl has been implicated in Alzheimer’s disease . I still use it as my OH CRAP, I am having a massive allergy attack.

IF need arises, can tap into HCQ and/or Antihistamines. Have three brands of the latter. Benedryl, Claritin and another. Stowed in Covid war chest.
I don’t think Cetrizine is an exact analogue (although it’s often combined with Benedryl). It’s advertised over here as not being sleep-inducing (although anything that reduces histamine reactions is by definition somewhat of a depressant)…
Lots of great comments already in response to this – NO disagreements.
IMO, the only choices that already have doctor-supervised clinical support including dosing are HCQ, IVM, and a set of antihistamines that does NOT include Benadryl/diphenhydramine YET. The proven antihistamines are Zyrtec/cetirizine, Claritin/loratadine, Allegra/fexofenadine, Xyzal/levocetirizine, and Phenergan/promethazine (last one is prescription, I think).
People HAVE used Benadryl long-term as a sleep aid, but there is SOME data that this LONG-TERM, CHRONIC use can increase the risk of Alzheimer’s.
For prevention, if I had enough stock, I would likely use either occasional IVM, occasional HCQ, occasional ZCAX (the 4 modern antihistamines), or occasional Benadryl – DEPENDING upon my own contraindications and experience. For me, that would mean ditching HCQ, because I am sensitive to quinine and related compounds. I have taken IVM and Claritin, so I would likely stick to those. However, I am actually not a fan of taking drugs – I take as few as possible for as short a time as possible – so I prefer not to use prophylaxis for COVID. My strategy is to NOT risk tolerance or resistance, but rather to hit things HARD and FAST when I get something.
I think it will be interesting to see if there is adoption of antihistamines by the “therapeutics” side (FLCCC, etc.), by mainstream physicians, or even by maskies and vaxxies.
I fully expect Fauci and the evil media and social media to fight antihistamines at the point that they begin to see them capable of “going viral”. Right now, they are SCARED of the “Streisand effect” on antihistamines – which is a real TELL that they KNOW they work.
So for your case, I would recommend sticking to what you know, and evaluating the size and content of your “war chest”, to decide what to commit to prophylaxis. However, I DO recommend having multiple choices in your war chest, for friends, family and neighbors. People feel comfortable with different drugs, and have different contraindications. E.g., Brave and Free can’t have aspirin or ibuprofen. I avoid HCQ, despite being a fan.

Yes, war chest is stocked for a handful. Have shared (no cost) with couple folks that can’t afford some stuff. They know I have reserves. Even for folks that can afford it, I’d never sell this stuff. Give them a hand AND vector them to available solutions for long term.

Instead, they would be interested in creating a “magic pill” that combines an antihistamine, Lactoferrin, AND an RNA / DNA “gene altering therapy” ingredient — that would cost at least $50 per “pill.” After all, look at Molnupiravir and Paxlovid.
Watch for the FDA / CDC “all of a sudden” due to “safety concerns” / “reports of overuse” / “not approved for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19” — pull the OTC antihistamines off the shelves and put them all back to “by prescription only.” Might be an idea to “stock up.”

Just listened to a JWST telecon.
They plan to start tensioning the Sun Shield today, starting with layer 1 of 5. This is the phase where the individual layers of the sun shield are separated from each other, which is necessary to maximize the insulation effect. (The spacing between the layers, in a vacuum, is a very effective insulator–much the same principle as in a old-fashioned thermos bottle. Much of the heat the first layer picks up gets radiated back out to space without impinging on the second layer; the second layer picks some up of course, but much of its heat gets radiated to space instead of impinging on the third layer…and so on, through five layers. Layer 5 ought to be pretty doggone cold, and it’s the only one the telescope will be able to see.)
I think they’re hoping it will be done by some time tomorrow, but they’re expecting it to take a few days (a lot more than the two originally expected). The problem is that some of the motors that do the tensioning are hotter than expected. Still well within bounds but they’re basically being very cautious and conservative. Imagine a driver who tops up when it gets down to 3/4 full because they worry that any day now gas might be short thanks to His Fraudulency, and you’ll be in their frame of mind.
So we don’t need to send up any space monkeys yet. Good to know.
Hey, silly question. What exactly will this thing be able to see? Understands it uses infrared and should be able to look out to the farthest reaches of space, lots to learn la di da, but I don’t know what that computes too in common hillbilly terms? I suppose its visible light capabilities, I’m talking about but this is infrared light. Can it read a license plate number on the surface or Europa with granular clarity? If it can do that, what about one somewhere in Andromeda? That’s pretty close by right?
Might be something to work on for us Hill Billie’s on a future Saturday post (all the fascinating capabilities and loads of stuff we’ll learn from close to far) if I’m not the only one.
Steve does cover this in his posts. It has long been known that objects farther away from us have their light “red-shifted”, so a blue star a few light-years away might appear to be a yellow star a few light-millenia away or even a red star out on the back side of nowhere.
Mind you, if you were up next to it, it would still be blue.
There are a bunch of things that hinge on that observation — for instance, the reason that we appear to have stars and blackness is not that we can see all the stars there are — it’s that most of the stars are red-shifted to where we can’t see them any more as visible light.
The JWST is meant to see farther than we ever have been able to before, to catch the millions of unknown stars beyond the ones visible as normal light.
Of course, there’s still the possibility that we’ll see a pattern of these now-invisible stars, in some faraway unknown cluster, that is arranged to spell out “SUCKERS!”.
One hopes for a well-placed “Fuck Joe Biden!”

And, indeed, the CMB is 3000 degree blackbody radiation–which would be pretty doggone bright–redshifted down to the sorts of frequencies your food nuker uses. Otherwise the night sky would not be a night sky.
The original argument that the universe could not be of infinite size was that if it were, no matter what direction we looked, we’d see a star…so the entire sky would be as bright as the sun is, per square minute of arc. That, of course would rapidly heat the Earth up to the same temperature as the stars. A couple of counter-arguments to that were that perhaps it was infinite, but the farther stars’ light simply hadn’t reached us yet.
Of course that all got tossed out the window with general relativity and modern cosmology; the universe might well be of infinite size, and yes, more distant stars’ light hasn’t reached us (and now we know, never will). That much is similar to the analysis in the prior paragraph, but that analysis was done long before the Cosmic Microwave Background was known about and understood to be remnants of the time the universe was at 3000K. The CMB radiation is everywhere, so it seems we should be back to “nighttime sky as bright as the sun (or at least a dimmer star, but still very bright).” But, the CMB has been redshifted. The nighttime sky instead glows as brightly as liquid helium…which isn’t very bright, certainly NO visible light.
Oh, and it would take a LOT more than a few light millennia to turn a blue star yellow. It would have to be in some other galaxy you’d need a large telescope to see. That’s actually quite a large red shift.
You’re right about the infrared light.
It should actually be able to pick up orange and red wavelengths of visible light.
I don’t know about its resolving power, but my educated guess is that it will be at least comparable to Hubble. (It’s bigger which helps resolution, but also looking at longer wavelengths, which hurts resolution.) So if you’ve seen Hubble photographs, that should give you a good idea what it can do.
[Scrolling back after writing the subsequent paragraphs: On second thought, its resolution *must* be sharper than Hubble’s because of some of the things I mention below.]
As to “why infrared” it’s because very distant galaxies have been red-shifted to the extent that their visible light has been stretched into infrared, and Hubble therefore can’t see them. The more distant, the longer-ago we are seeing them and we are hoping to actually be able to see back to the time when galaxies formed in the first place. Or even better yet, the current hypothesis is that even closer to the beginning very large (and I mean hundreds or thousands of solar masses) stars formed out of primordial hydrogen and helium (i.e., formed from the big bang) and nothing else. When those “first stars” formed there was no carbon, oxygen, silicon, or iron in the universe–none. So they’re hoping to be able to see them and learn–or fail to see them and learn something from *that*. (Incidentally, being able to see *single stars* at 13+ billion light years would be a feat in and of itself.)
Other reasons for using infrared is that it cuts through interstellar dust clouds. We can see the stars at the center of our galaxy…in infrared. We’re also hoping to see planetary systems form–and there’s a lot of dust in that process too.
Perhaps it will be able to actually *see* planets around other stars; most that have been discovered have been by indirect means (and I will be covering that in a future Saturday post).
Fundamentally, of course, we don’t know what we will see. We have some notions as to what we think we’ll see, but there’s always the chance we’ll get some big surprises. (Scientists–real ones–love it when that happens.)

Even a “good” legislator has to worry about re-election. He can’t continue to do good if he doesn’t get re-elected. So it’s an imperative for anyone.
The key, however, is to do so without becoming unworthy of holding the office. In other words, the good legislator must be someone willing to lose an election as the price of doing good, and even there, he’s allowed some minor compromises if they are exceptional events. (If they become the norm, on the other hand…)
And in some cases, it probably is impossible, especially if the district is full of leftists. Presumably any good candidate who ended up in such a district would be either a) not expecting to serve more than that one term or b) planning to monkeywrench the left a bit by “compromising” with us a lot–which means we’ll hate him but so will the left. He’d probably be the best we could do in such a district.
Yes, I agree. Politicians will always be faced with compromises, and they often have to choose. I thought that infrastructure bill contained some really bad things (which I can’t name at the moment), so that it would become sort of a hill to die on. PDJT seems to consider it so.

Well I went and got tested today, rapid and pcr. The rapid came back negative 2-3 days before I have the pcr results.
Still didn’t sleep well last night even with taking benadryl, so I spent most of the day in bed today catching up on sleep (except for the three hours I stood in line to be tested.)
The worst part for me right now is the sore scratchy throat and when I have to cough.
My head isn’t foggy or stuffed up. I didn’t eat much at all yesterday but today I had lunch and dinner.
Taking benadryl and ivermectin paste. Plus the recommended zinc, D3, Selenium qucertine, magnesium and melatonin at night.
As of right now I feel the best I have in three days hopefully tommorw I’ll be over the hump. Pretty sure i picked this up while away for the holidays, several people I was with all came down with something at the same time as me, we were all together on Wednesday and started to show signs by Saturday. Several tested positive and others negative. Funny the child who tested positive is out playing in the snow today LOL

I just got over whatever but keep taking claritin for two weeks because the SA doctor say paraphrased “one well and after a week something else pops up”.
I also drink bone broth and eat chicken soup.

Very interesting that testing on the group is a mixed bag. This is not unheard of with real COVID. I know of cases where two people who live together almost certainly both have it by every possible indication, but one tests positive and the other tests negative.
We’ll see!
NASA announces successful tensioning of layers 2 and 3 of the sun shield.
They each took a bit over seventy minutes to accomplish.
The remaining two layers will be done tomorrow.
This bit is full of pulleys and wires, and has been one of the ones they were most worried about as it was difficult to test/simulate on Earth.
But, so far, so good!!
Once tensioned, the schedule looks like it has a day (Wednesday) of doing something else (unspecified as to what), then on to deploying the secondary mirror. (That’s the part that looks like a tripod in front of the main mirror.) Secondary mirror looks like one day (Thursday). Then another day of something else, then two days unfolding the primary mirror and setting up the heat dissipator for the instrument packages (Saturday and Sunday). At which point, it’s deployed!!! But more work to be done getting the 18 parts of the main mirror aligned.
Wow! It feels like they are moving faster than I had expected but I do understand there is a lot more to come. Congrats NASA team!!
