That’s where the manipulable “guilt trip violence” comes in.

It’s Food Fight Friday at Wolf’s Pub! Okay, it’s not the kind we usually think of, with teenagers flinging lunch trays and pudding all over the place. No, we’re in an existential fight for the integrity and plenitude of our food supply.

How could chicken scratch rise 30% in just a few weeks?
WHAT CAN WE DO?
Christian asked Dr. Leroy what can be done to stop this global takeover. The good doctor was perplexed, but he did say that we need to get connected on the local level with our food. By that, he meant we need to seek out local food producers, since not all of us can grow gardens.

He said we have become disconnected from our local food sources. He also said that he is faithful to the food traditions of his culture, which includes foods such as organ meats.
I fully agree with that statement. I have put off getting in touch with a local beef rancher because it is really expensive to buy grass fed beef. But guess what? Beef prices have skyrocketed. If I’m going to pay a premium for my food, it might as well be the nutritious stuff.
On a similar note, the grocery stores have whole isles of stuff that we’re told is food, but has been so processed that it hardly passes for food. So little old me has begun a campaign to move my household to a Traditional Foods home. One step and one skill at a time.

By the way, I spoke with a grocery store employee today who told me that both Kroger and her company are going to allow fully vaccinated employees to wear a button that states such, and they won’t have to wear the mask. Those who aren’t vaccinated will still have to wear masks. She said it is just rumor at this point. I say a couple lawsuits should fix that right up.

Our drink special today is a dose of Liquid Liberty, aka Hard Cider. Americans were cider drinkers from before we became the United States of America. The Founding Fathers were drinkers and fermenters of hard cider. It was pretty much the drink of choice for a long while, until ale and beer slowly supplanted hard cider, and it fell on hard times. The Revolution, birthed partly in the many taverns of the colonies, was fueled on alcohol, according to this article.
“It’s tough to say, but John Adams may have been the biggest drinker of the Sons of Liberty. He began every day with a draft of hard cider before breakfast. He drank three glasses of Madeira, a wine fortified with rum, every night before bed. During the bad old days under British taxation, Adams wrote to his wife, “I am getting nothing that I can drink, and I believe I shall be sick from this cause alone.” He died at 90. Of old age.”
A bar tab at the time of the Constitutional Convention included eight bottles of hard cider, among an astonishing amount of other alcohol:

Today, hard cider has made a big comeback. Funny how things come round at just the right time. Angry Orchard is probably one of the best known hard ciders today, but then it’s owned by the Boston Beer Company, which also owns Sam Adams. Here’s a page of ciders for your perusal.
There are many local breweries that also make hard cider. You should check out your own area. You might find a delicious cider made locally.

An Open Letter to Liberals
Dear Liberal Friends (or not),
This letter has been rolling around in my head for awhile now, and I guess it’s time to let you know how I really feel about your politics. I’ve been quiet around you. I don’t share much because I know how it will cause division, and you’ve already caused enough division in our country. But I guess we are well past that now. I have seen how you treat others who are more open with their support of the Trumpian America First agenda.
You’re downright mean, nasty, uncivil, immoral and bullying. You are Anti-American. You are Un-American.
I want to address the hollowed out bubble you have lived in for many years. Some of you went to Ivy League schools. You got great jobs, met all the right people and settled in the typical enclaves of the elites. You live, work, shop, and educate your kids in these places where the people of color you see are often as educated and wealthy as you are. Have you noticed there’s no shortage of minorities in all sectors of our institutions? Surely, you see that. I mean, it’s right in front of your faces.
The hospitals in your area have lots of minority nurses and doctors. And yes, some of the more mundane jobs are done by minorities, like the landscapers, grocery clerks, and pool cleaners, and those who wipe the bottoms of the old people in nursing homes.
But somehow, you don’t see that plenty of white people are doing those mundane jobs, too. To you they are invisible. Just the color of their skin makes them not worthy of your paternal attention because…white privilege.
You’ve been convinced to feel guilty about your wealth and societal privileges. To feel better about it, you denigrate the great masses of working- and middle-class white people, who you call rednecks, racists, bigots, homophobic, ignorant and downright stupid.
If only you were somehow compelled to get to know the regular working-class and middle-class individuals that fill the everyday lives of MOST Americans. I wonder if you would be surprised to know that we all get along just fine.
Our communities have been integrated for decades. We have intermarried and raised kids together. Few think a thing about it. We appreciate each other’s diverse cultures. We work together, worship together and hob nob with each other.
Yes, there are Spanish-language masses on Sundays (that liberal dioceses have added), and there are Baptist churches that cater almost exclusively to blacks, but that is a choice we are all free to make. Are there still racist people? You bet. And they are as likely to be people of color as whites.
Your group of people has been very busy bringing back racial division. It’s you and your fellow Democrat/Socialists who are the racists and always have been. How terrible, and what an indictment of your political ideology. You have made everything about race, just when America was on the verge of making nothing about race.
The strategies of the politicians you favor have divided our national house like no other. You sit back in your wealthy enclave, protected from the outcome of these racist and divisive policies. Do you really think that you are improving the lot of anyone?
The liberal policies of the Great Society created an underclass of minorities (with TRILLIONS OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS), the descendants of which populate sections of our largest cities. Fatherless, directionless, these lost populations have turned to drugs and gangs and trafficking. It is this group of people who have most been harmed by liberals such as yourselves.
And your planners have been whipping up anger and despair in order to effect a revolution against the people who have done more to make America a prosperous and free nation—the plumbers and soldiers, and teachers and machinists, the waitresses and small business owners, the office workers and homemakers (people of all stripes). In short, the people who support an America First agenda, the Deplorables. A name with which your High Priestess, Hillary Clinton, baptized us.
Well, let me tell you something. You have lost any claim to a moral authority, let alone the authority to rule over us. And we aren’t going to give up our right to have an equal share in the governance of this great nation. You are not our betters. In fact, your nihilistic death-cult politics has put you far beneath the Average Joe.
You are the ones who are touting post-birth abortions, the mutilation of gender-confused kids, the eugenic fantasies of the academics amongst you. You are the ones who give the masses depraved entertainment that glorifies violence and hedonistic sex, and then point fingers at the mess society has become.
You have the money to mitigate the problems your politics and policies cause on a personal level (your kids are a mess, by the way.) The rest of us are left having to deal with the carnage on the ground with little resources to fix things.
For all your education and connections, you don’t know much at all. I consider you the useful tools in this revolution to overturn our Constitution and usher in a tyrannical world government. History tells us the useful tools always get consumed in the end.
However, the Deplorables will win and you will be saved. But I know you won’t be grateful. You’ll go to your graves lamenting the loss of authority and power of your tribe. The wokeness of the ruling class is a laughable testimony to your gullibility. Mark Twain once said, “All schools, all colleges, have two great functions: to confer, and to conceal valuable knowledge.”

Standing Up to Totalitarianism
Thank goodness prudence was not at the forefront of parents’ thinking in Vail, Arizona. Whenever people stand up against the totalitarian instinct that has taken over our government, they are WINNING. The Vail, Arizona parents who stood up to the school board are a great example. Piggybacking on Absinthe from last week, Ouzo is another liquor that has its own culture and ritual, and that also utilizes anise, a licorice-flavored herb. Ouzo and Absinthe are often compared.
Here’s a nice little introduction to Ouzo, which is really quite young (19th century) but has achieved epic fame in Greek culture and abroad. Ouzo is made from must, or the leavings from winemaking, which is basically the skins and stems of grapes. Add anise and several other herbs, and there it is. I have been reading Dennis Prager’s commentary Exodus: God, Slavery, and Freedom. Prager’s Rational Bible takes Scripture and makes it applicable and relevant for our times in a unique way.
He gives a great perspective on why God chose Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt:
“Moses fights evil. He is instinctively intolerant of suffering and injustice…Moses…was not raised among them [Israelites]. That made him far more worldly than people who were raised as slaves…Moses does not have a slave mentality. Unlike his fellow Hebrews, who were so demoralized that they could only cry out…Moses does not share their demoralization and does not merely cry out; he takes action.” (P. 24., Exodus, Slavery, and Freedom.)
Prager says, further, when discussing the God-fearing midwives who helped save Hebrew babies (Exodus 1:17),
“There is another important moral aspect to fear of God. People fear those who are more powerful than they are. Therefore, the only way not to fear powerful people is to fear God…It was the midwives’ fear of God that liberated them from fear of the Egyptian tyrant. This point is often overlooked: Fear of God is a liberating emotion, freeing one from a disabling fear of evil, powerful people.”

Their plans are doomed to fail. How many times in history does this have to happen before the megalomaniacs figure out that centralization of power is a losing proposition? The natural world is not organically organized in such a way. It will never be organized in such a way (“…until He comes whose right it is…”.)
Hence man, who is a part of nature, will never be permanently organized in such a way, either. There will always be clans, tribes, cities, nations and neighborhoods. No matter what techno ghetto they put us in; no matter what economic stranglehold they throttle us with; no matter what medical controls they put on us; and no matter what centralized political system they impose on us, it will fail.
People have a way of overcoming the machinations of tyrants. History is on our side. I am speaking of that pivotal moment in History when the Son of God overcame the world.
Their Black Swan event will be a thing to behold, I have no doubt.
The Cabal fancies themselves to be higher beings who are destined to reign over a greatly-reduced population of peons who serve their every whim, and who can be used in any way they please. I’ve read they greatly desire to attain physical immortality. Oh, I think the Second Death may have them no matter how long they cling to biological life.
These crazies concocted a web of plans to implement their desires: The Great Reset, the Green New Deal (see Dark, Cold Years are Coming, So You’d Better Get Ready), Agenda 21, Critical Race Theory, Marxist groups like BLM, the Covid Plandemic, and so on. But they have been flushed out in the open, and I suspect this exposure was part of a plan all along.

They’re actually half-messages – those Orwellian absolutes that mean nothing – not even nonsense. They’re unattached emotions declared “good”. They’re serious discernments declared “bad”. They are like lullabies to BABIES – to TODDLERS. “Love is good.” “Hate is bad.” They are “fallible truisms” – quarter-turns or half-turns to FULL ORWELL.
Sometimes they hint at where they will be applied politically, but often they are just generic virtue statements – to be applied later.
They aren’t even OLD TRUTHS – much less COMPLEX STORIES.
And STORY – that’s another story.
Let’s go back for a moment, for comparison. Back when the current forms of socialist politicization of country music were just getting started, under Bill Clinton, in the 90’s.
I didn’t see it then – or rather, I didn’t ADMIT TO MYSELF that it was happening then – but I can certainly SEE IT and ADMIT IT now.
There was a kind of “crypto-feminist story” country genre, in which liberal murder fantasies against “country boys” were fulfilled through aggrieved white women in virtue-signal-filled, plot-laden, country songs. that ended with dead white “bad guys” of unstated but ominous nature, who had “wronged” in various nebulous ways the women who needed to take vengeance – frequently the wife or daughter.
The BAD MEN were clearly abusers – but the songs were just ambiguous and poetic enough to make EVERY MAN GUILTY.
It was “Billie Rae Jack” – or GOD in her stead – killing the old white guys in radio format.
Of course, these songs always sounded GREAT, and I cheered along with their EXCITING PLOTS and ENERGIZING MUSIC – even though I knew that *I* was the guy who was gonna be killed by the wife or daughter for rolling my eyes at some giant tin chicken.

THAT is a MESSAGE. It is an ONGOING and EVER-LASTING RURAL PURGE.
Nobody becomes MORE COUNTRY. Only LESS COUNTRY.

Her relation to her FATHER matters subconsciously to you like a HOSTAGE, and THAT IS WHY THEY CHOSE HER. She will always will be a country baby hung over Hollywood crocodiles, psychologically, and THAT is why they did what they did.
They’re DEMORALIZING YOU.
WE THE VICTIMS pretend that psychology doesn’t last one second after the commercial, when the reality is that this stuff lasts our WHOLE LIVES and they have simply LIED TO US about it. They LIED to us that we can “change the channel” and it all goes away.

I remember when this would have been as controversial in country music as #MeToo was for liberals a year ago. Yes, it was consensual premarital sex, but it was still SEX OUT OF WEDLOCK.
Trust me, this itty-bitty beginning of omnipresent sex in country doesn’t sound bad, but these people want WHITE FOLKS to start filling up the Cloward-Piven welfare rolls, and THIS is exactly how to do it, along with FENTANYL – fronted by the CHICOM PUPPETS. First they normalize the baby daddy, and then they normalize kicking him out, and then they normalize him running around proving that he’s a man using his stolen AR-15 as the new country gang-banger.

The Trivium is a classical term denoting three of the seven branches of the Liberal Arts (and we aren’t talking Queer Gender Studies here) that make up both the Trivium and the Quadrivium. We are going to focus on one part of the Trivium, LOGIC, but the other two parts are GRAMMAR (the art of inventing and combining symbols”) and RHETORIC (the “art of communication”).
Yes, we are going to utilize the tools that have stood Western Civilization in good stead for many centuries. I think it was mostly white men who discovered and codified this SUPERIOR way of learning but let us not enrage any lurking BLM Marxists too much…yet.

Violent Antifa riots are called “mostly peaceful protests.” Black Lives Matter calls white people racists based only on their skin color. Simply being born white is an offense.
People with gender dysphoria are encouraged to undergo surgery rather than consider the historical and emotional causes of such illnesses.
Indeed, the time has now come when the plain provable, scientific facts of biology are officially refuted in order to maintain a political narrative that seeks to overturn the existing order. The madness is such that it is now suggested children be given a cocktail of puberty blockers in order to first discern and choose their sex, gender being the term for sex now, rather than its traditional grammatical function of feminine or masculine in language usage.
The globalists and Marxists who seek to wrest power from the citizens have embarked upon the familiar tactic of overturning the foundations upon which our political system exists, even our understanding of REALITY.

Today’s special is the Texas Two-Step, or in more common parlance, a Boilermaker. A shot of whiskey and a beer. Here’s a bit of history about the Boilermaker. Fta:

I just happened to be down in the metroplex and picked up a bottle of Powers Irish Whiskey (do read their introduction. I swear I could hear an Irish brogue emanating from the screen while I read it).

Back to the Boilermaker. DePat, I just love you. Powers is one of the most delightful whiskeys I’ve ever tasted. From Cork, where my husband’s family history hails, it has firmly supplanted his current favorite (which I will not name out of an abundance of respect for it).
However, Powers has a light refinement to it that is reminiscent of some of the best whiskeys. Looking forward to trying all three types.
I paired it with Guinness, which was NOT MY CHOICE. I would’ve gone with a lighter beer, but sometimes you have to let your better half do what he’s gonna do. That said, it pairs up pretty darn well.

You will find that most of it – particularly at the end – is a compilation of hilarious Trump memes – BUT – from about 1:45 to 4:00 minutes, you will find a wonderful collection of Flynn quotations and sound bytes taken from speeches.
Now – THIS is where I began to see that there was great benefit in paying attention to Flynn’s thoughts, both general and specific. There was not only a lot of overlap with TRUMP – there was a lot of overlap with Q.
We aren’t hearing much from Q lately, are we? But let’s be honest with ourselves – should we?
Maybe not. But in the meanwhile, IMO, studying FLYNN is the next best thing.
It is very useful to jump to a COLLECTION of Flynn’s quotations, here, to see even MORE congruence of thought between Flynn and Trump, and Flynn and Q.
Again, you will find that Flynn has much congruence with Trump on many issues (though not, interestingly, all of politics), and this is WHY Obama and the others were so determined to remove Flynn as Trump’s NSC. Likewise, their taking out of Rich Higgins and Ezra Cohen-Watnick makes all kinds of sense now.
The left wanted NO “fall-back” on national security policy – or “national insecurity insanity” in my opinion.
This was especially true in terms of gaining clarity on dealings with radical Islam – that of which we were no longer even allowed to speak under Obama.
The point, however, is really much bigger than JUST radical Islam.
Flynn’s point is a direct contradiction of a leftist imperative – that THE PARTY controls what exists and what does not. Note that this applied DIRECTLY to THE STEAL. To the normie masses, addicted to the MSM, “Election fraud did not exist.”
And yet notice how they also controlled what DOES EXIST, too, and EVEN FOR US.
Notice how THE CREEP ALI AKBAR – that WICKED POS – came in and ginned up the CONTROLLED “Stop The Steal” movement, then HERDED IT to the Buffalo Jump. Yes – the communists control what “does exist” for us, too. Even if we don’t want to admit it.
It’s SOVIET. Flynn is careful not to STATE trap words like “Soviet” or “communist”, but he teaches essential ideas that cut to the heart of the matter.

Flynn CORRECTLY identifies the COST of FAILURE to “Stop The Steal” – and we are LIVING IT right now. Everything that Sidney Powell said we needed to do – that Flynn warns about in this interview – that Patrick Byrne explained – and that WEAK GOPe CLOWNS SURROUNDING TRUMP allowed to happen, despite the warnings – it’s all coming true NOW.
SO – why do we now need to study General Flynn?

SO – we have all been “trusting the plan” – right?
But what exactly WAS “The Plan”?
Was it just the Q drops?
Was it the Q drops minus any “disinformation”?
Was it the Q drops plus every brainless thought about flimsy numerology?
Was it the Q drops plus every speculation seeded by leftists counter-operatives?
Was the plan something BIGGER than what we were shown?
Did the plan ever CHANGE?
Did the plan ever RUN INTO TROUBLE?
Was the plan something other than what it appeared to be?
Was the plan a TRUST OPERATION?
Was the plan a TRUST OPERATION fought into a BACKFIRE?
Was the plan a FAITH OPERATION overplayed by the enemy into a TRUST OPERATION?
Now – I only asked that, so that you might realize that we ALREADY differed in what we thought “The Plan” actually was, while President Trump and Q drops were a CURRENT THING.
It has only gotten more ambiguous now that all the sliding goalposts have slid into the sea, somewhere off the coast of Syria.
But now I want you to consider something which EVERYBODY in the military quotes. It is often attributed to Colin Powell, but it is in fact a much older quote.
It is my contention that, no matter what you think “The Plan” either WAS or IS, it has CHANGED along the way. Unless you believe that GENERALS are wrong about plans surviving contact with the enemy, then you should likely agree that we are now dealing with a tactically different plan than what we were operating under, in October of 2017 – or even October of 2020.
Allowing plans to change – what Trump calls “flexibility” – speaks to a very important idea – something Trump doesn’t just HAVE, but also TEACHES – mostly by example. I once called it “Trump gravity”, but I think the more general concept is ANTIFRAGILITY.
Here is a very important discussion I had with Grandmaintexas about this idea.
And remember this – ANTIFRAGILITY WORKS BOTH WAYS.

That was a really great read. That is actually very helpful, and hopeful in that I can now use that as a strategic metric to understand how “The Plan” was corrupted by various forces to reduce its capabilities of “teaching us to fight”.
Q was in essence an antifragility builder, which scared the scheming left, so they figured out ways to reduce its effectiveness. But now, learning FROM those efforts, we can actually make some quantum leaps in gained fighting ability – which is prime antifragility.
Not all will see this, but that’s OK. Booster stage will fall away, but many will realize it, and make the leap to the next stage.
The JE Dyer article that GA/FL posted shows that this is huge. By simply not allowing this election to be normalized, EVERYTHING changes. And that gets into what Grandma is posting from Vox Day – antifragility – TEACHING US TO FIGHT.
We cannot learn to fight by assuming somebody else is going to rescue us. And this resolves all questions about Q, and what Q really was, versus what was inflicted on the movement in a very deep and cunning fashion.
We have to go back to the drops themselves (DP does this regularly), and recognize that there ARE forces which understand the predicament, but they are UNABLE TO ACT without us becoming both STRONG and ANTIFRAGILE.
Mere belief in our destiny will not do it.
Flynn is the key. We HAVE to study his military strategy – not to PARROT it, but to USE it and EXTEND it. In searching for some of it, I keep getting IKE back from search engines, because the neural nets understand the relationship. That goes back to THE PLAN, including the parts we have to GUESS.
Rich Higgins in essence extends Flynn by correctly identifying the Red-Green axis and getting out from under the inflicted paradigm of not realizing who is really behind terrorism – who the enemy really is. Flynn forces realization of who the enemy actually is and the absolute necessity of such identification.
We ARE doing this already – embracing the complexity of enemy identification in a complex world. But we cannot rely on others to do our fighting. We must capitalize on winning strategies, and most of all, we must take to heart Flynn’s advice from that telegram message.
One is just a repeat at the end – and is the first idea of this post – that we should not give our GAME PLAN to the enemy. And I’m not. I’ve been SITTING on a lot of great strategy for the last week or so. Stuff I would normally talk about. Now nowhere to be seen. Stuff that will RAIN HELL upon the enemy.

We often hear the phrase “let a thousand flowers bloom”, or something similar, which is roughly attributed to Mao Zedong, but is typically used in a more capitalist, business, organizational, or “free thought” setting in Western society. It is something like a “call for democratic input”.
Now – here is what WOLF thinks about Mao and his Hundred Flowers Campaign.
Mao was a weak thinker, but an admirably persistent psychopath, hooked down to his SOUL on the greatest ideology of HATE and ENVY to ever rise from the BOWELS OF HELL. The parallels to Obama are uncanny, and BLM has both Mao and Obama written all over it. Obama hides his Maoism well, but not from THE WOLF.
As a cagey player, Mao saw all the possible outcomes of 100 Flowers, including things beyond his reach, but because he was pursuing a WEAK and universe-failing version of socialism, which cannot admit the existence and role of “God” and religion – even as abstractions and ideals of higher thought – he was playing a game he could not win. The 100 Flowers stratagem almost HAD to default into a trust operation, because Mao was not a strong enough thinker to modify Marx’s elite-born “sabotaged socialism” to even a TRULY “Chinese” version, much less correct the intrinsic failings of a crippled, self-worshiping system that turns politics into a faulty religion.

100 Flowers simply cannot work for the commies.

I don’t know how much more of this book I can read, but here goes. Chapter 8 of Mitch McConnell’s memoir, “The Long Game” is titled ‘Love.’ It begins thus:
“It was my friend Julia Chang Bloch who had first suggested that I meet Elaine. I’d known Julia and her husband, Stuart, since I was a staffer for Senator Marlow Cook in 1969, and we had become close friends.”

Mitch has been close friends with Julia Chang Bloch and Stuart Bloch since 1969. Mitch likes dropping names and I was intrigued about his two long-time friends. I had never heard of either of them, but they are obviously important to him. Besides Chao’s family and McConnell’s daughters, the Blochs were the only others present at Mitch and Elaine’s wedding in 1993.
I was intrigued with Chang Bloch because of an interesting snippet that has been repeated over and over in different articles about her and Elaine Chao.
In article after article, using virtually the same words, we are told that Julia Chang Bloch mentored Elaine Chao. It is mentioned as part of the background in many articles, a mere tidbit.
This is the only thing I could find, a sentence of her inclusion on a list of mentors for the magazine Women of Wealth or WOW:
“Julia is listed in World’s Who’s Who and in Donna Langston’s A to Z of American Women Leaders and Activists – she is one of only 147 women from U.S. history to make the list – and she was selected in 2011 by the American magazine Women of Wealth as “one of the nation’s top women mentoring leaders”.

I looked into Julia Chang Bloch and found she has had great success as a Chinese immigrant to the United States. You can read about her here and in an interview here. Here is some of her background from the Foundation she founded in 1998:

Julia Chang Bloch is listed as a contributor at The Globalist, but the only article that comes up authored by her is a 2003 article advocating for globalism through bilingual education and lots of studying abroad.

She is affiliated either through speaking engagements, awards, fellowships, etc., at numerous organizations that promote globalist viewpoints, feminism, and various groups that couch social and economic thinking through the lens of race, and all the trigger points in between.
One of the board members on her US-China Education Trust, Kurt Campbell, has been named to Resident Biden’s administration. Here USCET congratulates Mr. Campbell on his appointment:

Here is Mrs. Bloch being interviewed on China Global Television Network, a State-owned television station, which has had numerous complaints against it for propaganda and worse.
There is some interesting exchanges in the 20-minute interview. In an opinion piece about the video interview, the author focuses on American discrimination against Chinese immigrants. This is a mantra. Mitch even pitches it about poor Elaine’s childhood when she was teased at school and her family terrorized by Halloween trick-or-treaters. He even goes so far at one point to lament that Kentucky is very ‘white’.
In this article at China Daily, Chang Bloch is mentioned as being part of the conversation but never quoted. Here is a quote however, from the person, Yang Xinyu, minister counselor for educational affairs at the Chinese Embassy in the United States, who did seem to be talking to Bloch:
“Calling educational exchanges ‘the fundamental power of the over-all relations between the two countries,’ Yang said cooperation is the only option for the prosperity of both countries and for addressing common challenges to all mankind.”
It is clear the Chinese feel educational exchanges to be extremely important to fostering cooperation (as in, “You will cooperate!”) and prosperity (as in, “You make us rich!”) between the United States and China. This is not just a feel-good nod of benevolence, and the Chinese emphasis on it is deeply serious.
If you read enough of these articles by Chinese nationals, however, you can see that the Chinese feel they have come of age. They look upon the United States as an unequal–as in lesser–power, and their own problems with cultural superiority come shining through.

Further on, I found an article that is boilerplate feminism. A puff piece about the husbands of women ambassadors, Mr. Bloch duly introduces himself as “Mr. Julia Chang Bloch,” and the article finishes with the obligatory story of how the diplomats spoke to the men and not the actual ambassadors about important things. Mrs. Bloch said, “I guess we will just have to work this out,” to her husband.
After her careers in government and business, Chang Bloch turned her focus to education.
“In 1998, Julia resigned from the board of America West Airlines. In the same year, Peking University – China’s oldest modern university, consistently ranked in the top 50 universities worldwide – asked her to rebuild its American Studies Center. She became Executive Vice Chairman of its American Studies Center and a Visiting Professor at the Institute for International Relations. In 2001, she also joined Fudan University in Shanghai as a Visiting Professor and Distinguished Adviser of International Relations and Public Affairs.”
Cultural Marxism and dissing Milton Friedman! The article is full of globalist pap:
“The most unpleasant part of the job was my having to remove my predecessor. He had been a banker all his life, and he was a follower of Milton Friedman’s doctrine that “the social responsibility of business is to increase its profits.” He took the fall, but no one at the bank saw any problem in supporting the Boy Scouts, America’s largest private youth organization. But in San Francisco, known as the “Gay Capital of the US,” politically active LGBT groups, including bank employees, cared about the Boy Scouts banning homosexuals from its ranks, and began picketing the bank’s headquarters. At the same time, my predecessor was blindsided by the passion of the anti-abortion movement and got caught between activists on both sides. I was able to manage this no-win situation because I did not treat it as non-business issue of little consequence. I listened to understand what was important to the activists and negotiated like a diplomat to reach deals. At the bank, I learned not only a lot about shareholder value, but also that business needs to be on top of issues outside of the corporate sphere to remain successful.”
She goes on about the need for “talent” for American businesses in China, and how cross-cultural education is important and so on. She often sounds very similar to the corporate Marxists who run so many of our largest US corporations.
Talent, Talent, Talent
The US-China Perception Monitor, which is affiliated with the Carter Center, interviewed Chang Bloch in March 2020 about the pillars of US and China relations. Here’s a snippet, but do notice how Chang Bloch asserts that American competitiveness may be dependent upon Chinese and other global “talent”:
“Zhang Juan: Some Americans emphasize the nature of competitiveness in US-China relations and argue that the US should be careful of training Chinese students. What would you say to these people?
Julia Bloch: America did not become great by being averse to competition. The competitive spirit drives America. What are our anti-trust laws for but to encourage competition? Competition can boost excellence, inspiring men and women to put out their best. Just look how crazy Americans are about sports. You cannot win by avoiding competition.
America also does not have a monopoly on education and training. The UK, Canada and Australia, to name a few countries, are great competitors. The current atmosphere where Chinese students feel increasingly unwelcome in America has created a decline in the growth in Chinese students coming to the US, to the benefit of countries only too happy to take up the slack.
There’s also, I think, a flip side to your question, which is that American competitiveness may very well depend on maintaining our inflow of Chinese students. The United States has the world’s leading higher education system today partly due to the talent we attract from not only China, but also from the rest of the world. So, to answer your question in short, should the United States be careful of training Chinese students? I think we would be shortsighted not to train them.” [My bolding]
Getting the picture? In general, the apothegm “You are known by the company you keep” is quite true. Mitch’s best friend and Elaine’s mentor, Julia Chang Bloch, is aligned with globalism and dedicated to bringing “talent” over from China via educational programs. And she’s been at it for 20 years.

I’ll leave you with one last gloriously cynical article that mentions Chang Bloch, but only in passing. It’s mostly a one-stop shop for dissecting Mitch McConnell’s and his wife’s China connections.
Kentuckians would be especially interested, as it focuses a bit on how Mitch has hoodwinked the good people of Kentucky, and just how does he manage to keep getting elected? Hmmm…
Gotham Buzz does a close shave on Shanghai Mitch, as he’s called in the article. A quote here:
“According to a June 6, 2019 report by the NYT,
‘… In 1989, shortly after their first date (at the Saudi ambassador’s home near Washington), Mr. McConnell was preparing for a re-election campaign. Greetings from Ms. Chao came in classic Washington fashion: a string of campaign donations, totaling $10,000, from Ms. Chao, her father, her mother, her sister May and May’s husband, Jeffrey Hwang, according to Federal Election Commission records…’
But donating money to McConnell appears to have been a good investment for the Chao family, as they keep on giving.”
